The last notes of A-Ha’s 25-year career have been recorded for a special DVD release by long-time Lawo customer Cinevideogroup, using the mc²66 in its flagship mobile production vehicle, OB14. Ironically, although it is A-Ha’s farewell concert, it is their first-ever live DVD.

PBS’ “Antiques Roadshow” Goes Tapeless with AJA Ki Pro
AJA Video Systems, a leading manufacturer of professional video interface and conversion solutions, announced that eight-time Emmy Award-nominated PBS television series “Antiques Roadshow” used 11 of its Ki Pro tapeless recording devices to capture Season 15 of the series, which premieres January 3, 2011. This marks the first season that “Antiques Roadshow” will be using a tapeless capture workflow.

Christie Works with Indochine on Their “Meteor Tour”
Legendary 80s rock group Indochine wrapped up their “Meteor Tour” at the Palais Omnisport de Bercy in Paris on 14th and 15th September, 2010. The band, whose 30-year career continues to draw not only fans from their earliest days but also the children of those fans, played 62 dates on the tour, attracting some 800,000 concert-goers.

Arqiva transmits ‘Believe: The Eddie Izzard Story’ to UK cinemas
Arqiva, on behalf of Cineworld, has provided complete transmission services for the launch of Believe: The Eddie Izzard Story in their UK Cinemas. Arqiva’s SNG/Production-facilities truck was deployed to the Cineworld Cinema on Haymarket where it played out and uplinked the film to satellites including Arqiva’s Digital Cinema Platform on IS905. The truck then provided HD filming and uplinking of the live Q&A session with Eddie Izzard, hosted by Phil Jupitus in front of a celebrity audience. The complete event was downlinked and screened by nearly fifty Cineworld cinemas around the UK on 18 November.

A charming debut: grandMA2 attends Miss America for the first time
It was the 90th anniversary of the Miss America Pageant and a pair of grandMA2 light’s made their debut at the show, which was telecast live on ABC from the Planet Hollywood casino-resort in Las Vegas. The pageant reunited lighting designer Allen Branton, who returned for the fourth time, and fellow lighting directors Kevin Lawson and Felix Peralta, who marked their third year and fourth year on the show respectively. This also marked the first time that Lawson and Peralta had used the grandMA 2 on a live televised broadcast beautiful.

Camera Corps Q-Ball robotic camera heads are keeping watchful eyes on the latest series of 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here' from Springbrook National Park on Australia's tropical Gold Coast. A total of six Q-Balls were chosen by international broadcast services company Gearhouse Broadcast as part of an 80-camera flyaway production system for the programme's ninth series. Produced by ITV Studios, the programmes are being transmitted in Britain by Granada Television (weekdays) and LWT (weekends) and on TV3 in Ireland. Over 40 hours of live programming are being sourced from 24/7 content captured over several weeks of production.

Once again, ATK Audiotek deployed its custom-designed cart system with JBL VERTEC® line arrays for the Halftime Show and Post-Game Show of the Super Bowl, held at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas on February 6, 2011. The carts were also used for Lea Michele’s rendition of “America the Beautiful” and Christina Aguilera’s performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
