Fast speedsters and a whole lot of action: The film "The Racetrack" by Canon was recently recorded with the DSLR EOS 5D Mark II and the MPEG-2, Full HD XF305 professional video camcorder at the MK Circuit in Scientrier, France. The film was designed to demonstrate how the output from Full-HD video-enabled DSLR cameras can be combined seamlessly with HD video cameras, with each product offering unique benefits to the film-making process. Canon’s manufacturing ethos is to ensure its products complement one another to ensure a strong workflow solution for users, and superb image quality is always at the forefront of the company’s mind. The final edit demonstrated how the output from both products was seen to work together to create an engaging film showcasing both products’ capabilities. During production, professional equipment from Sachtler, a Vitec Group brand, was also used.

Radio Television Malaysia (RTM), the Malaysian government owned broadcaster based in Kuala Lumpur, is getting ready for HDTV with audio technology by SALZBRENNER STAGETEC MEDIAGROUP. After having equipped three sound control rooms with AURUS consoles back in 2005 and 2008, the broadcaster has now purchased three AURATUS consoles for TV production.

RTP Madeira, a regional Portuguese television channel operated by Rádio e Televisão de Portugal, has upgraded its production facilities with two Solid State Logic C10 HD Compact Broadcast Consoles. The station produces programming and news for cable distribution to the Madeira Islands and via satellite for the Azores Islands. The C10 HD consoles, part of a move into an all-HD digital production workflow, are supported by two XLogic Alpha-Link Live I/O units and four Alpha-Link 8 RMP eight-channel microphone preamp units controllable from the console.

Lighting Cameraman Mark Moreve from Great Britain films mostly entertainment programs and documentaries for television. He used the Micro and MicroPro LED lights by Litepanels, a Vitec Group brand, for film work for the BBC and the British Press Association.
