Merging Technologies’ Ovation Media Server has been enthusiastically received in two very diverse locations in Scandinavia. A theatre and a theme park have discovered that Ovation can be programmed to their particular requirements and that this can be done with minimal training and maximum speed.

The recently opened Turkmenistan TV Tower, one of the largest broadcasting facilities in Central Asia, has chosen to install Vitec Videocom equipment from many of its key brands. Systems integrator, Policom Technology, supplied the television station with a range of Vinten, Vinten Radamec, Sachtler products. Equipment dealer, Bilgi Park, supplied various Anton/Bauer and Autoscript solutions.

At NAMM in Anaheim, audio specialist Sennheiser is launching its brand new XS Wireless Series. Designed for users who want to go wireless in an easy way, this entry-level series offers complete sets with sturdy units, simple operation and high quality sound. The transmitters have a battery life of up to 10 hours, while a switching bandwidth of up to 24 MHz allows for flexibility in the choice of frequencies. The series is comprised of two vocal sets, an instrument system and presentation sets with clip-on microphone or a headmic.

In a major technical upgrade, the ORF center in Vienna has changed all its grandMA “series 1” consoles to grandMA2 consoles. The MA NSPs (Network Signal Processors) were also replaced by MA NPUs (Network Processing Units), and furthermore, the ORF has invested in new grandMA2 fader wings.
