Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR), the Bavarian public broadcaster, has chosen EVS servers for producing sports and in-house TV entertainment programmes. EVS’ high-speed servers are known for their extensive use in OB facilities during live production. BR has placed its trust in EVS technology to deliver a fast and flexible ingest and playout solution for its studios.

When New York does something – it does it big. So, as the New York Historical Society and Library Theater was being refurbished, the company commissioned a documentary of the great City. “The entire production was to be about how we could use the Library’s 73-foot wide screen to the max,” says cinematographer Eugene “Buddy” Squires.

Harris Broadcast Communications has provided a technical infrastructure solution to the Pinewood Studios Group in the UK for its HDTV production facility.  Pinewood Studios will install the equipment in brand new HD production galleries, servicing two dedicated 840-square-meter production studios at the Pinewood site, just outside of London, as part of a wider multi million pound upgrade in its TV business.

South Korea’s leading public service broadcaster has upgraded their existing Pyramix installation in the KBS Hall.  The 1661 seater hall is located in the main KBS complex at Yeouido to the South West of Seoul.  The hall hosts not only prestigious music events but is the location for major awards ceremonies throughout the year.

Modern high performance power amplifiers deliver current peaks of up to 125 A and maximum voltages of up to 190 V. This power needs to be carried to the loudspeakers with as little loss as possible. In this context it has to be noted that more and more power amp channels must be assigned to the loudspeaker systems.
