In the third successive year, Lawo once again in 2017 provided IP-networked audio consoles for the 14th July celebrations in Paris. More than 500,000 spectators celebrated at the foot of the Eiffel Tower in Paris “Bastille Day”, the National Holiday in France, marking the beginning of the modern French nation. The “Concert de Paris” is one of the largest classical music events in the world, followed by the traditional fireworks. The music featuring the National Symphony Orchestra and the Choir of Radio France with internationally renowned soloists was relayed to TV viewers and radio listeners in France and beyond.

With millions of daily visitors, YouTube has become an ideal platform for government agencies to keep the public apprised of breaking legislative developments. Content traditionally reserved for public TV or meeting rooms is now increasingly being live streamed, as the Minnesota House of Representatives is showing. House Public Information Services, a non-partisan office of the Minnesota House of Representatives, broadcasts select meetings live on PBS and cable when the House is in session, but also delivers a live stream of every meeting room to YouTube, relying on AJA’s HELO to stream meeting content to potential viewers 24/7.

New Zealand Parliament selects Ericsson for live captioning services

Ericsson today announced that it has won an exclusive multi-year access services contract with the Office of the Clerk of the House of Representatives in New Zealand. The contract will see Ericsson remotely deliver live captioning services for the Parliament TV broadcasts of the sittings of the New Zealand House of Representatives. The new captioning service will be available on Parliament TV for the first time from August 2016.

3D Storm (NewTek Europe), distributor of NewTek products in Europe, Africa and the Middle-East, was at the heart of the French National Day on July 14th, for the streaming live of the traditional and majestic firework on the Eiffel Tower. This year the theme was “Broadway Musicals in Paris”. More than 500 000 people attended the show on the Champ de Mars esplanade and more than 50 000 internet users watched the firework broadcast live with Tricaster.
