All of France marks the beginning of the modern French Nation each year on 14 July, with events taking place all over the country – but this year’s National Holiday was quite different due to the pandemic felt everywhere in the world. More than 2,500 individual events comprised the 34th “Evangelischer Kirchentag” (Protestant church convention) that took place from May 1st to May 5th in Hamburg. The closing service attracted around 130,000 faithful, as well as considerable interest from the media.

The recent Arsch Huh music festival in Cologne, Germany was one of the largest of the year, with 85,000 people enjoying performances by more than 25 bands including BAP, Bläck Fööss, Brings, Tommy Engel and other notable German artists. The concert, organized in 1992 to stand against racism, celebrated its 20th anniversary with spectacular sound courtesy of Sirius Showequipment AG and an audio system featuring HARMAN’s JBL VTX Series line arrays.

For three days a large proportion of Arqiva’s SNG fleet will be deployed at key electoral locations across the UK covering the build up, Election Day and the results. Arqiva will also provide Sky News with satellite space on AB1 and IS905.

Düsseldorf’s 240m-tall Rheinturm tower was the setting for a sky-high laser projection and light show in June to promote Deutsche Telekom’s extended 5G network. The telecommunications company worked with German event management agency DO IT! to realise the show, and they in turn commissioned AO Creative to help conceptualise, design, supply the fixtures and technology, and execute the display.

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit took place on Tuesday 24 December 2012 in Manama, capital of the Kingdom of Bahrain. As one of the main political events in the Middle East region, the summit was broadcasted in several territories around the world. Alfacam was chosen by the Information Affairs Authority of the Kingdom of Bahrain to facilitate the coverage of the Summit which took place in the Shakir Palace of Manama.

On Moscow City Day, the capital hosted a unique visual event: Alfa-Show 4D, a magnificent video projection show on Sparrow Hills dedicated to Alfa-Bank’s 20th anniversary. For half an hour, the facade of the main building of Moscow State University became a giant screen 25,500 square metres in size, as a multitude of spectators (nearly 800,000 people who attended the celebration) witnessed a strikingly beautiful audiovisual show.

As part of its live coverage of this year’s U.S. Presidential race, Al Jazeera Media Network provided viewers with up-to-the-second voting results. The results were visualized by an integrated data analytics and real-time graphics rendering solution from Astucemedia and Vizrt. The solution allows broadcasters to take real-time voting data and easily turn it into compelling on-screen graphics to help viewers at home get a better understanding of election results.
 

One of the largest news channels in the Arab region, Al Arabiya, part of the Middle East Broadcast Channel group, wanted to cover the U.S. election in a way that reflected the impact the election has on the Arab world. They also wanted to be able to explain the complexity of the election in a very clear and memorable way for their viewers. To achieve this, Al Arabiya partnered with Vizrt and SpiderCam to create the world’s largest augmented reality (AR) set used in a live news production. 

Called upon by long time partner QMDI in Doha, Qatar, and working alongside Production Company John Adkins (JA) Productions, Creative Technology (CT) provided a variety of video equipment for the inauguration of Phase 2 of the Al Khaleej Gas (AKG) Project in Qatar.
The ceremony, held at the Cultural Village in Doha on May 10th, was the second stage, the first phase of which began in November 2005 and was completed in December last year. This is an ambitious project, the aim of which is to provide gas to some of Qatar’s most significant industries.

120,000 Tampa Bay residents who assembled at MacDill Air Force Base earlier this year for AirFest 2016, one of the world’s largest air shows, received a front row seat to all the action on the ground and in the sky. For the first time, attendees could view everything from military aircraft displays to aerial performances on large-scale video walls featuring real-time footage interlaced with graphics detailing pilot bios, aircraft profiles, attendee tweets and more. Taking advantage of a graphics and AV workflow developed by Reality Check Systems (RCS) and OSA Media Solutions, AirFest pulled off the largest-scale live production and stream in air show history.

Adlib was again right at the core of the action for four days of amazing public theatre that saw the return of the Royal De Luxe giant marionettes to the city for a weekend of fun, history, poignancy and superlative entertainment.
