The European Parliament and Lawo are among the winners of a coveted AV Award, with the EP’s Mission Transparency project receiving the “Public Sector Project of the Year” award. Dubbed “the Oscars of the A/V world”, the AV Awards were held at London’s Battersea Evolution venue. In Beijing at the beginning of October, the largest NEXUS network ever built by the Berlin-based manufacturer Stage Tec was used to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China: 58 Base Devices, 12 STAR routers and 12 mixing consoles. A parade, procession and gala event were broadcast nationwide by CCTV. Worldwide distribution was handled by CGTN Global Television Network (formerly CCTV International).

AVIWEST, a leading provider of video contribution systems, announced today that the Public Authority for Radio and TV (PART) of the Sultanate of Oman deployed a complete AVIWEST solution to broadcast live coverage of the October 2019 Majlis Al-Shura elections, which take place every four years. PART selected the AVIWEST PRO3 Series HEVC bonded cellular transmitters, QUAD antennas, and StreamHub transceiver to broadcast live from any location, even in remote areas with limited connectivity. ApexTec served as the distributor, ensuring a seamless product deployment.

The Parliament of Catalonia in Barcelona has installed a comprehensive signal routing and communications backbone based on Riedel’s MediorNet real-time signal transport, processing, and routing technology, together with the Artist digital matrix intercom and Bolero wireless intercom. The new networking infrastructure is a core element in a multiyear HD upgrade of the Parliament’s video recording and broadcast capabilities.

Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas, uses television, cable, online and OTT broadcasts of worship programming to reach global audiences. The scope of Green Acres’ broadcast team includes 11 fulltime and one part-time staff member across video, audio and lighting, in addition to dozens of faithful volunteers to deliver high fidelity video to the global audience. Director of Video Engineering and IMAG Operations, Casey Hawkins, a 30-year broadcast industry veteran, recently assisted with an overhaul of Green Acres’ broadcast infrastructure, which upgraded all Worship Center television and cable channel production from SD to HD.

Stage Tec, the Berlin-based manufacturer of professional audio technology, supplied three ON AIR flex mixing consoles, two NEXUS STAR routers, and a NEXUS network for the audio equipment renovation in the Bern parliament building. The original installation comprised an ON AIR 24 console and a NEXUS network, which had been installed since 2011. The modernization project was planned by WSDG and executed by Kilchenmann.
