Youths Stage Brutal Assault on Castle in Quiet Corner of Eastern Czech Republic

The brotherhood of bonding that is your typical heavy metal festival revolves largely around the nihilistic pursuit of music plugged directly into the emotional cortex of the listener. These days the mark of a successful metal festival is about managing the perception of volume; it must 'sound loud' but without all those nasty artefacts of volume, gross distortion for example, that can damage hearing. So it was that just outside a castle in a dark corner of the Czech Republic a group of worthy sound engineers strove their utmost to convey this most belligerent of musical emotion and they had just the PA system to deliver the goods.

Your New Best Friend at Festivals

Imagine you are an audio engineer at a music festival and – typically – several acts turn up at the last minute. As you’ve been smart, you’ve taken care to set aside spare frequencies just in case, but it’s just one of those days: the festival manager turns up with yet another unexpected special guest half an hour before the show starts and there are no frequencies left! Usually, this would mean running the entire frequency planning program again, but you’ve downloaded the new version of Sennheiser’s Wireless Systems Manager so all your hard work is safe. Version 4.1 has a brilliant function that protects any selected frequency settings before the software calculates a new plan.

Your Boss Loves Your BYOD Tablet, Stuff

I recently watched a couple of the old segments of 24 on YouTube with my iPad and they delivered the same palm-sweating suspense as when they first ran.
It made me wonder how much more Jack could have crammed into his 24 hours if he had today’s tablets and smartphones instead of that old-fashioned Blackberry.
We don’t use our tablet for entertainment (or games) often because ours is for business … really!
