Panasonic announced it is establishing a European 3D Innovation Centre in Wiesbaden, Germany, to accelerate the development of its 3D business. Following the launch of its first 3D Innovation Centre in Japan in July 2010, Panasonic is now opening regional centres in both Europe from 1st October and North America from some point in the near future to support 3D partnerships, consumer demand and innovation in the regions.

Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has provided broadcast equipment and support to redesign and upgrade the facility infrastructure at Windmill Lane, one of Ireland’s largest and most famous post production houses. Harris supplied Windmill Lane with highly integrated routing, multiviewer and control software technology.

On Saturday night 11th September, SVG hosted more than 200 sports industry professionals at its annual IBC Sport Reception in Amsterdam to salute the 2010 achievements of Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) and Host Broadcast Services (HBS). These two companies, respectively, were directly responsible for two groundbreaking 2010 productions, the Vancouver Winter Olympics and the FIFA World Cup. Manolo Romero, CEO of OBS, was on hand to accept the award for the Olympic production, while Francis Tellier, CEO of HBS, accepted the award for the World Cup broadcast.

In 2004 TecnoVISION contributed to one of the most spectacular sports facilities in Europe at Stuttgart stadium, by creating 2 displays model SP13 over 114 m² each. The displays have been a benchmark for years, also during FIFA World Cup 2006, for all European stadiums, due to their size, resolution and brightness.

During the summer, Touring Video installed a temporary TV production studio outside Studio 11 at the famous Culver Studios in the USA. The Suite was used for almost two months to record over 160 episodes of the popular US Fox game show “Don’t Forget the Lyrics”. For the Audio Control Room, they fitted a STAGETEC CRESCENDO digital console with 32 faders, 120 Input channels, and both stereo and surround sum busses.

CBC has recently upgraded one of its music production remote trucks with a 128-channel, 32 fader Solid State Logic C200 HD Digital Production Console. The C200 HD is used for both live broadcast and recording of concerts and events for radio and television in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. The console offers the advanced features and great sound of an SSL console for capture, while providing the power and flexibility to accomplish post production mixing when needed.
