DELEC and Aspen Media are to undertake the second phase of the BBC contract for the provision of a DELEC intercom system in the rebuilt Broadcasting House, London. The system was installed during Phase 1 of the Corporation’s W1 Project, which was to completely refurbish the original 1930’s art-deco building, Broadcasting House in Portland Place W1. Phase 2 involves building the world’s largest television and radio online newsroom. When complete the development will be the home of the Broadcaster’s Audio and Music Division, BBC News and the World Service.

University of Otago has installed a 64-fader Solid State Logic C200 HD Digital Production Console with two remote Stage Boxes in the historic The Albany Street Studio complex. Built in 1968 by the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation, The Albany Street Studio was a classic BBC No. 2 studio acoustic design intended for recording a full orchestra. The introduction of the C200 brings advanced recording capabilities to the acoustically perfected room, giving University of Otago students a real-world educational opportunity. The C200 HD is used with Alpha Link, Delta Link and an X-Rack with two G Series and two VHD mic preamps.

BCE and Front Porch Digital announce that the European Parliament’s Centralized Audiovisual Migration and Management System has won a prestigious IBC Innovation Award in the content management category. Front Porch Digital's SAMMA® and DIVArchive® technologies are key components of the European Parliament's (EP) integrated end-to-end system for migrating analog content into the fully managed digital realm. The project was nominated for the IBC award by Front Porch Digital and its systems integration partner, Broadcasting Center Europe (BCE).
