UK based lighting designer Paul Normandale specified a grandMA2 light console to run lighting for the Scissor Sisters current "Night Works" world tour. Normandale likes the feel of the console, and used one with Glen Johnson (Scissor Sisters Lighting Director) on the Courteeners earlier in the year. Johnson has been using the grandMA2 ever since it became available with great success and enthusiasm.

A Technology Trio at the Opera
Moving an opera is not trivial: Two years of renovation works at Berlin’s Schillertheater are now complete. In October, the theatre will become the temporary home of the Berlin State Opera because the main house at Unter den Linden requires renovation. As a system provider, the SALZBRENNER STAGETEC MEDIAGROUP participated in the project of making the 200-year-old theatre building fit for use as an opera. The high-performance media infrastructure now installed will allow for state-of-the-art drama productions even when the Opera returns to its home in 2013.

New HD Broadcast OB Van with VSM
The Virtual Studio Manager (VSM) is the control system that HD Broadcast has employed in the new 3D ready OB van. Together with project engineers at L-S-B Broadcast Technologies GmbH, the system integrator company Broadcast Solutions put the new 16-camera OB truck into operation at the end of July. The fully digital truck, which has been showcased at the IBC 2010 in Amsterdam, is designed for outside and studio productions in HD.

Reckord Produced NHL Opener in Prague
Radim Vrbata scored twice and added an assist to lead the Phoenix Coyotes past the Boston Bruins 5-2 in their NHL season-opening game in the Czech capital Saturday. Nathan Horton scored twice for Boston in the third period. Vrbata, a Czech right winger, pleased the home crowd of about 16,000 in O2 Arena 7:59 into the game, scoring from a rebound off Adrian Aucoin's slap shot. Vrbata hit the puck when it was in the air.
