Trio’s New HD Mobile Unit Hits the Road with Cobalt Digital
Trio Video, a Chicago-based mobile production company, recently rolled out Tempo - its newest HD mobile unit furnished with an extensive complement of Cobalt Digital’s 3G/HD/SD conversion gear. The Cobalt equipment is being used to distribute audio and video signals throughout the vehicle, and convert high-definition signals to different levels and formats. Chris Shaw, Cobalt’s vp of sales, made the announcement from Company headquarters in Urbana, IL.

Korea’s largest online retailer has completed the second phase of HD conversion of its TV production facilities, specifying Lawo mc²66 digital consoles as standard for its audio mixing requirements. On completion in 2011, the GS Home Shopping channel intends to use its three Lawo systems in a networked configuration.

Due to unprecedented demand from Switzerland’s classical outdoor festival circuit, TiMax distributor Bleuel Electronics AG have invested in additional TiMax Tracker and TiMax2 SoundHub systems from UK developer Out Board. With their existing rental stock already fully committed to other shows, Bleuel purchased a further TiMax SoundHub-R32 delay matrix and four-sensor TiMax Tracker (TT) performer tracking system to service a spectacular in-the-round production of Carmen being staged outdoors in Schinznach Dorf.

RPR Sports Buys FOR-A HVS-300HS HD/SD Portable Switcher and Two HVS-3800HS Switchers for Extreme Productions
RPR Sports, a Los Angeles-based production company for corporate and network clients, built an HD studio from scratch on the beach this past August for the Huntington Beach (US Open of Surf) National Surf Competition. Central to the on-site studio were RPR’s recently purchased FOR-A HVS-300HS HD/SD portable video switcher and two HVS-3800HS HD/SD2M/E digital video switchers with DVE options. According to RPR Sports director of operations Robert Real, the all-in-one functionality and small footprint of the FOR-A switchers make them indispensable for extreme shooting environments such as this.
