Genelec’s new G LearningLab educational program is to kick off this August with a series of tutorials focussing exclusively on the company’s GLMloudspeaker manager software. The series challenges gamers around the world to compete in first-person shooter, fighting, sports, battle royale and multiplayer online battle arena tournaments for a chance to earn the title of “Ultimate Gamer.” For its first-ever “Valorant” LAN tournament, which took place over the course of three days this summer in Miami, Suarez live streamed all of the action to fans worldwide via social media platforms. MEDIAPRO Canada extends media rights deal for Mexico’s Liga MX for two more seasons
MEDIAPRO Canada has extended its agreement for the media rights to LigaMX, the top tier of Mexican professional men’s soccer, for two further seasons, through to 2021-22. Live coverage of two games per week will be aired exclusively on OneSoccer, MEDIAPRO Canada’s dedicated soccer channel, starting from July24 . The coverage begins with the opening weekend of the Torneo Guard1anes 2020, the newly-rebranded Torneo Apertura which runs from July through to December. The new name honours the healthcare workers who are battling the Covid-19 pandemic in Mexico, with LigaMX president Enrique Bonilla commenting that the name change represents a “message of unity and solidarity”.

Five high profile buildings around the UK were proudly lit with Anolis fixtures in the recent #LightItInRed lighting action organised to draw attention to the special requirements of live performance, entertainment and events as the economy re-starts after the coronavirus lockdown. The five – the O2 Guildhall and the Mayflower Theatre both in Southampton, Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire, Knebworth House in Hertfordshire and Somerset House in The Strand, central London – all feature permanent Anolis lighting schemes to illuminate their facades and intricate architectural details.
DAER Nightclub wins Mondo Award
DAER Nightclub in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, has won a 2020 Mondo (Americas) Award in the nightclub category for its stylish and innovative lighting design by Stephen Lieberman of SJ Lighting. The venue includes a massive 44,000 square foot indoor / outdoor space located at the famous Guitar Hotel at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino complex and was opened in the final quarter of 2019. DAER’s lighting rig includes over 100 x Robe LEDBeam 150 moving lights. Robe North America sales director Craig Burross was delighted, commenting “Steve’s friendship and his ongoing confidence with using Robe products in such an iconic location makes us extremely proud! Another amazing SJ nightclub design in DAER!”
OPTOCORE PROVIDES MCG WITH MADI EXPANSION AND INTELLIGENT PATCHBAY
The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) recently committed more than AUD$50m to a substantial upgrade to its 100,000-seat stadium. This included an AUD$25m contract for a new site-wide PA, transport and connectivity, masterminded by two eminent technology companies. Australian sound & AV consultants Auditoria conceived the system, and Diversified (who in 2019 acquired Rutledge AV in Australia) undertook the complex integration at the famous MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground). Premier pro audio brands, including fibre network specialists, Optocore, were vital to the implementation. To give an idea of scale, more than 3,000 speakers now populate the seating bowl, function rooms and VIP suites, atria, internal concourse areas and exit gates.
Calling Billions of Hearts, SMT "virtual audience" debuts in Chinese Football Association Super League
From July to September 2020, 112 games will be played in Suzhou and Dalian in the first stage of the 2020 Chinese Football Association Super League (CSL). Due to the special requirements of epidemic prevention this year, the production of the CSL will be different from the production of traditional competitions. SMT dispatched a total of 40 elite team members, which including S4 broadcast team, B3 broadcast team, and SMT AR Studio, to cooperate with China Sports Media (CSM), the CSL copyright dealer, to provide HD and 4K live production and live feed distribution. Under the high requirements of epidemic prevention, SMT has provided self-developed virtual audience production and virtual sound production services in order to present a "special" and exciting season for the 2020 CSL.

Home-base of the new Streamline model is the Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA). The Streamline S12T is designed as a truck/box body combination with one extension. Thanks to the perfectly fitting dimensions and thought-out room and workflow concepts, it offers space for up to 14 workplaces and can be operated with up to 12 cameras; a unique combination for OB vans of this size.
