All live replays were managed with the newly upgraded 3D XT[2] servers from EVS.

About three months ago from 18th to 20th September, Holger Fleig and Volker Tittel were in the spotlight when receiving the cinecAward for their project “campilots” during the International Trade Fair for Cine Equipment and Technology cinec. Now they were awarded a prize once again: In Berlin, the “campilots” and Arnold & Richter Cine Technik were given the Innovation Award 2010, a prize awarded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.

Troumaron, a run-down quarter in the suburbs of Port-Louis, the capital city of Mauritius: The life of four young people in an area of the city marked by sadness and unemployment becomes a fight for survival. The escape to another country fails and ends in a catastrophe. In the novel, "Eve de ses décombres" ("Eve from her ruins"), the Mauritian author Ananda Devi paints a sad picture of the tourist paradise. In Mauritius, the Swiss-Polish cinematographer Piotr Jaxa made a motion picture based on this story. Shooting was done with a Sony EX3 accompanied by the SOOM tripod system and the FSB 8 fluid head from Sachtler, a Vitec Group brand.

Chyron today announced that two HyperX3 on-air graphics systems were used in Canada's first 3D hockey broadcast, a matchup between longtime rivals, the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs, on CBC's Hockey Night in Canada. During the Dec. 11th game at Toronto's Air Canada Centre, the Chyron systems allowed for use of a dynamic 3D score bug and other graphics with 3D objects and animation in this landmark broadcast.

Much has been said about 3D Television and its impact on the way sports programming will be provided by the Pay-TV industry. Forecasts for the uptake of 3DTV sets, channels and thereby satellite transponders are flooded with “hockey-stick” curves full of hope. However, this does not change the fact that more than 30% of the UK’s DTH subscribers are watching their favorite football teams on High Definition channels as of today.

Arqiva has distributed Coupe de France football for France Television Outre-Mer (France Ô). Arqiva’s SNGs were deployed to uplink two matches played on November 20th. Arqiva also provided the domestic satellite capacity from which France Ô downlinked the live feeds.

The Panasonic AG-AF101 has a Four Thirds MOS sensor optimised for HD video recording. The camera can record video in Full HD (1080i/p)/720p formats including 1080/24p native mode with Full HD Variable Frame Rate function. The video can be recorded on SDXC memory cards in professional high quality PH mode (up to 24Mbps). Two SD card slots allow relay recording from one card to another to give large recording capacity of up to 12 hours in PH mode or 48 hours in HE mode. The Panasonic AG-AF101 will be released in December.
