MEO, the new television service from Portugal Telecom (PT), and Media Luso, the broadcast services company that is part of the MEDIAPRO group, recently set a new standard for professional surfing with the live 3D broadcast of the Rip Curl Pro Event in Portugal. As part of the ASP World Tour, the Rip Curl Pro Portugal took place in Peniche, home to Europe’s greatest pipeline called Supertubos, between October 7th and 18th. All live replays were managed with the newly upgraded 3D XT[2] servers from EVS.

About three months ago from 18th to 20th September, Holger Fleig and Volker Tittel were in the spotlight when receiving the cinecAward for their project “campilots” during the International Trade Fair for Cine Equipment and Technology cinec. Now they were awarded a prize once again: In Berlin, the “campilots” and Arnold & Richter Cine Technik were given the Innovation Award 2010, a prize awarded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.

Troumaron, a run-down quarter in the suburbs of Port-Louis, the capital city of Mauritius: The life of four young people in an area of the city marked by sadness and unemployment becomes a fight for survival. The escape to another country fails and ends in a catastrophe. In the novel, "Eve de ses décombres" ("Eve from her ruins"), the Mauritian author Ananda Devi paints a sad picture of the tourist paradise. In Mauritius, the Swiss-Polish cinematographer Piotr Jaxa made a motion picture based on this story. Shooting was done with a Sony EX3 accompanied by the SOOM tripod system and the FSB 8 fluid head from Sachtler, a Vitec Group brand.

The Panasonic AG-AF101 has a Four Thirds MOS sensor optimised for HD video recording. The camera can record video in Full HD (1080i/p)/720p formats including 1080/24p native mode with Full HD Variable Frame Rate function. The video can be recorded on SDXC memory cards in professional high quality PH mode (up to 24Mbps). Two SD card slots allow relay recording from one card to another to give large recording capacity of up to 12 hours in PH mode or 48 hours in HE mode.
