One of the biggest annual events in Huddersfield, the Festival of Light, once again made a great impression in 2010. The festival took place from 02nd – 05th December 2010, and alongside the main event in St George’s Square there were a wide range of fringe events taking place across the town. Part of the festival this year was ‘Light Trail’, an event that saw several of the towns landmarks illuminated, with the display commencing at 4pm every afternoon for the duration of the festival.

NUSSLI Builds Interim Stadium for Fortuna Düsseldorf

NUSSLI, a global supplier of modular stadiums, was commissioned this week by the city of Düsseldorf with the construction of an interim stadium for the second-division soccer team Fortuna Düsseldorf. NUSSLI will erect the temporary stadium next to the ESPRIT arena in eight weeks building time. The last home games of the season will be played in the stadium, which can hold about 20,000 spectators.

The Virtual Studio Manager (VSM) is the overall control system manufactured by L-S-B. The Next Step in 3D TV

At this year’s Integrated Systems Show at Amsterdam, Natural View Systems from Buttenheim (Germany) will present a world first: the iVu display system for spatially enhanced stereoscopic reproduction of video images. The patents pending algorithm used by iVu computes a 3-D spatial image from every possible digital 2D-content. The system outputs the processed signal in real-time and is applicable to video content in any format and resolution. Watching spatial video produced by iVu requires just a standard HD autostereoscopic screen. The image can be enjoyed without glasses as the spectators are used to it by other systems.
