Portugal’s most popular channel TVI goes for future proof MPEG-4 satellite contribution with ATEME
Televisão Independente (TVI) of Portugal is upgrading its Satellite News Gathering (SNG) vehicles with ATEME’s H.264/MPEG-4 capable contribution encoding system to establish a future proof platform for covering sporting and other outside events in HD. TVI has started by upgrading one of its SNG vehicles to ATEME’s CM4101/DR8400 broadcast contribution encoder/decoder pair in order to provide HD coverage of football matches for worldwide distribution by the European Broadcast Union (EBU/Eurovision) satellite services.

TSL Completes Major Workflow Install for TVNZ
In September 2009, TVNZ contracted TSL to design, procure and install a new file-based workflow and media asset management system at its broadcast facility in Auckland. Initial work on the project began almost immediately at TVNZ and TSL's Maidenhead design and testing facility. The TSL-designed workflow and MAM system included technology from 16 major software suppliers, and hardware components from 14 different vendors.

Green Hippo at Huddersfield’s Festival of Light
One of the biggest annual events in Huddersfield, the Festival of Light, once again made a great impression in 2010. The festival took place from 02nd – 05th December 2010, and alongside the main event in St George’s Square there were a wide range of fringe events taking place across the town. Part of the festival this year was ‘Light Trail’, an event that saw several of the towns landmarks illuminated, with the display commencing at 4pm every afternoon for the duration of the festival.
