Last month’s AMA Awards, held at Microsoft Theater and broadcast to more than eight million viewers on the ABC network, featured several of today’s most talented pop artists such as Bruno Mars, The Weeknd, Ariana Grande and many others. The runaway success of Daft Punk at the 56th Grammy Awards ensured that Gateway’s Bob Ludwig captured three of his category wins with Best Historical Album making it four out of four. Gateway clients took another five wins for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Dance/Electronica Album (both Daft Punk again), Best Country Duo/Group Performance, Best Latin Pop Album and Best Americana Album. The Best Historical award was for “Charlie is My Darling – Ireland 1965” which captures the original line-up of the Rolling Stones on a quick weekend tour of Ireland. With The Beatles picking up a Lifetime Achievement Award, it seems that music from the ‘60s never seems to lose its appeal.

Alkmaar Zaanstreek, better known as AZ Alkmaar or simply AZ, have selected  an AI driven camera studio for creating their own TV productions situated within their AFAS stadium. AZ is a Dutch professional football club from Alkmaar and plays in the Eredivisie, the highest professional football league in the Netherlands.

Borussia Dortmund opened up the Bundesliga title race by beating leaders Bayern Munich 1-0 at the Allianz Arena to reduce the deficit at the top of the table to two points, on a weekend of despair in Germany. A goal from Mario Gotze early in the second half was enough to inflict a second home defeat on Bayern, who lost by the same scoreline to Borussia Monchengladbach on the opening day of the season. Both Dortmund and Gladbach are now Bayern's closest challengers in the table with just two points separating the Bavarians from the two Westphalian sides with four games to go before the winter break.

Buckinghamshire New University and education partner, Sennheiser UK Ltd, have held a panel debate featuring top music industry specialists. The debate, held in front of around 40 prospective students and parents, was part of an undergraduate open day at the University, in Queen Alexandra Road, High Wycombe.

LIVE ART: Tree of Life is a unique collaboration that brings prominent recording artists, musicians and children together. Held at Richmond, Virginia’s 3,200-seat Landmark Theater and produced by the School of the Performing Arts in the Richmond Community (SPARC), this winter’s LIVE ART: Tree of Life featured GRAMMY-award winner and SPARC alumnus Jason Mraz, along with k.d. lang, Christina Perri and other artists performing with more than 200 children of all abilities. Soundworks of Virginia handled the live sound for the event, using two HARMAN Soundcraft Vi4 digital consoles for front of house and monitor mixing duties.
