Bridge Technologies today announced that ii has received the TV Technology ‘Best of Show’ award for the company’s new PoE+ (Power over Ethernet) Tabletop Kit.  Representing the ‘front end’ of the already award winning, ultra-low latency VB440 monitoring solution, the PoE+ Instrument View Kit has been designed to support the fundamental raison d’être of the VB440; the ability to visually access and assess IP network performance and packet transfer from anywhere in the world, and make use of that information at any point along the creation chain, end-to-end, from production to distribution. 

Bridge Technologies will embrace both the AIMS and ASPEN initiatives, with the company’s products supporting any formats emerging from either of the two proposed approaches. AIMS and ASPEN are competing proposals for Video over IP as the broadcast industry transitions away from SDI.

At IBC2018 (Stand 1.F68), Bridge Technologies is focusing on the unique ability of its VB440 probe to deliver full network and content analytics in a 4K over IP world.“No other company has achieved this over IP yet,” said Simen K. Bridge Technologies, through Australian business partner Techtel, have now completed their integration of the VB440 IP Probe for Nine Network, an Australian free-to-air digital TV service provider. This integration forms a part of Nine’s wider site relocation, involving the creation of a brand new ‘creative campus’ with Internet Protocol technologies incorporated in its core. A key element of Nine’s site development was the choice to change the data backbone of the studio from an SDI-based environment to a fully SMPTE IP-based infrastructure. This will see Nine working on an uncompressed SMPTE 2110 workflow basis, working with on-air graphics, newsroom systems, post-production, network and infrastructure, and live studio elements.

At IBC (Stand 1.A71) Bridge Technologies is showcasing a new capability – as a technology demonstration, but due for imminent customer availability – that promises to be transformative for remote production. The technology is a Widglets™API HTML5 video monitor for the company’s VB440 network probe that allows the probe to become truly multifunctional beyond its current widespread deployment for monitoring IP networks, extending its usefulness well beyond test and measurement. By leveraging the Widglets API, users can, for example, now deliver a full-motion, colour-accurate and ultra-low latency video monitoring capability to any location or any application where it is needed: all that is required is a laptop and a network connection.

At NAB2019 (Booth #SU6702) , Bridge Technologies will showcase the broad and deep range of solutions it offers that will help the broadcast industry make a smooth transition to an all-IP infrastructure. Specifically, the company will focus on how it delivers state of the art hardware and software tools that enable IP networks to be monitored and analysed, providing information in real time that supports broadcasters in ensuring optimum quality of service and consumer satisfaction.

In time for the virtual IBC2020 this year, Bridge Technologies announces the mosaic and multiviewer capability of its Widglets© API: a revolutionary and flexible approach to production monitoring. The Widglets API is an HTML5-based embedded video monitor capable of full-motion, colour accurate playback of uncompressed video content with two sub-frame latency in a web browser. This in essence blurs the line between location/event specific on-site production and studio production, and facilitates full creative capabilities within any remote production.
