At the All England Lawn Tennis Club’s (AELTC) 125th Wimbledon Championships EVS severs and IPDirectors were in operation at Timeline TV, ESPN, the HD OB trucks of SIS LIve, Mediatec and NEP Visions for the 2D and 3D production, providing the host broadcaster and all international broadcasters with replays of the matches and instant searchable access to archive footage.

The Ukrainian broadcast provider STB Ukraine, one of the largest Ukrainian broadcast networks, equipped its ten camera HD OB truck with a communications installation from Riedel Communications. Riedel renowned for leading intercom, fiber, audio and radio technology installed a communications system combining wired Artist digital matrix intercom with wireless Acrobat intercom technology. Responsible for the installation was the systems integrator TVC, UAB Televizijos ir ryšio sistemos, Šiauliai, Lithuania.

A huge victory for German Basketball superstar Dirk Nowitzki and his Dallas Mavericks team. On June 12th the Mavericks won the NBA finals against arch rivals Miami Heat. Three of the six finals were fought out at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas where they were broadcast using the finest German audio technology. Host broadcaster ESPN used a large NEXUS network for this very special occasion.

Host broadcast organization HBS confirms its ongoing collaboration with live production technology specialist EVS to supply equipment to enhance live production coverage at the Women’s World Cup in Germany.  Match productions involving multiple Outside Broadcast (OB) facilities as well as broadcast companies will rely on EVS solutions for all live replays, highlights and graphic analysis throughout the event.

Argentinian Torneos y Competencias continue to standardize their sports production on Orad’s platforms by integrating Orad’s PlayMaker slow motion sports servers and on air graphic platform.

With its Freedom HD truck Pulsar produced the international signal of the Brazil - Venezuela match at the Estadio Unico de La Plata. Pulsar covered the match with 14 cameras with two cameras mounted on cranes. The Match ended 0:0.

After delivering 25 matches, on behalf of FIFA and Sony, in 3D at the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ in South Africa, HBS was in Wimbledon this season with its long-standing partners Sony and Can Communicate to partake in the 3D delivery of this flagship Tennis event.

The Isle of Wight festival was the first UK music festival to be broadcast live in 3D. The three day event took place on 10-12 June with headline performances from Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters and Kasabian. Critical to getting great 3D pictures was a new concept in tracking pedestals, the Skquattro.

On May 14, 2011, the 56th Eurovision Song Contest was broadcast live from the Düsseldorf Arena. With an estimated 120 million viewers from over 45 countries worldwide, it is one of the most important live TV events. 36,000 viewers were in the Arena as the duo from Azerbaijan claimed the title. For many in the crew who worked behind the scenes to make the TV event a success, an exhausting time came to an end with the final performance.
