As part of an expansion and upgrade plan SuperSport, the South African sports broadcaster, has contracted EVS to provide XT3 production servers along with integrative content production and management solutions for its new-generation HD capable Outside Broadcast fleet. Part of the fleet will also be used as general production units for M-Net, a private subscription television service in Africa and SuperSport’s sister company.

South African outside broadcast (OB) company SuperSport Outside Broadcast, formerly known as M-Net Outside Broadcast, has installed a new Calrec Artemis digital audio console in its new OB truck, OB1HD. The move comes as SuperSport upgrades its fleet from SD to HD to meet the growing demand for HD content. This installation marks the last truck in the fleet to migrate to HD.

Leading South African satellite broadcaster SuperSport is moving into a new state-of-the-art HD playout center.  Responsibility for management and monitoring of all the signals in the facility has been handed to the Platinum® IP3 router from Harris Broadcast, representing the first global installation of this innovative advance in routing technology.  Harris Broadcast’s South African dealer, Concilium Technologies, supplied the Platinum IP3 as part of a complete package of Harris Broadcast infrastructure equipment, and worked closely with Harris Broadcast throughout the project.

The South African pay-TV provider SuperSport has just added a new vehicle, OB4HD, to its fleet of high definition outside broadcast trucks. OB4HD was equipped to be multi-functional by Sony Professional Solutions Europe in Basingstoke and will be used by SuperSport primarily to provide live coverage of sporting events.
