Broadcast Pix™ today introduced Granite™ 2.0 and Slate™ 8.5 software, as well as two new live video production systems, Granite 500 and Slate 500, which feature a new compact control panel. Granite 2.0 adds playlists, ProRes clips and QuickTime Animation playback, offers an enhanced Harris CG and an optional Chyron CG, improves chromakey and key priority controls, and provides remote control of streaming appliances. Slate 8.5 also provides many of these same improvements.

Broadcast Pix™ yesterday announced the shipment of its 100th Granite™ live video production system. The 100th unit was purchased by Cisco Systems in October, and is the company’s second Granite system.

Broadcast Pix™ will debut its upgraded Flint™ integrated production switcher line at IBC2015 (Stand 7.B21), which runs Sept. 11-15 at Amsterdam RAI. Designed to manage live production from ingest to distribution, the new Flint is available with four (Flint LX) or six inputs (Flint LS), and includes several new workflow enhancements.

BPswitch™ integrated production switchers, the FX4 and FX6 models, from Broadcast Pix™ are now shipping. This series allows live production via cloud-based control from a traditional control room or anywhere a browser-based interface can be accessed via a tablet, smart phone or laptop.

The company’s BPNet™ IP ecosystem, powered through the ioGates cloud-based media management platform, delivers BPswitch’s control-over-IP capabilities with low latency, as well as extended encryption and two-factor authentication for secure performance. The Broadcast Pix Commander™ user interface provides a simplified and customizable interface, which helps non-technical personnel easily switch live productions, add titles, insert clips, and control robotic cameras.

Broadcast Pix™ announced VOX™, a breakthrough product for cost-effective live video production that works with any Granite™, Mica™, or Slate™ system to produce voice-activated video productions. VOX eliminates the need for an operator during live productions, as it detects which microphone is being used and uses sophisticated software to switch to an interesting camera position and add appropriate graphics. VOX is ideal for government and corporate meetings, interviews, video coverage of radio programs, and other productions with multiple microphones, and can be used for television broadcasts, Internet streaming, and in-house projection.

Broadcast Pix™ today announced that its Rapid CG software, which uses templates to easily create customized graphics, now integrates with Rundown Creator, a Web-based collaborative software platform for producing rundowns and scripts for live news and other programs. Information for lower-thirds and other graphics included in a Rundown Creator script can be exported to Rapid CG and automatically inserted into existing templates to simplify live production graphics.

Broadcast Pix™ announced the release of its Video Control Center™ 3.1 software. A free download for current Granite™ and Mica™ customers, V3.1 is available now and delivers PowerAux™ multi-screen support for 1 M/E systems, Multi-Lingual Fluent-View features, support for Grass Valley K2 servers, and additional enhancements.

Broadcast Pix™ announced today the release of Granite™ Version 1.3, which adds Fluent™ Clip Store to the live video production system’s suite of built-in workflow tools. The new Fluent Clip Store holds up to 120 hours of HD clips and supports 1920x1080 .MOV and .MP4 files. The upgrade also provides stereo audio output for both Fluent Clip Store and Animation Store.

Broadcast Pix™ today announced it will offer Lyric PRO 8, Chyron’s graphics creation software, for its family of Granite™ live video production systems. Every Broadcast Pix system includes a switcher, Harris Inscriber CG, and clip store, and now Granite users can choose Chyron as well. Broadcast Pix will demonstrate the new Chyron option at the 2011 NAB Show in Las Vegas, Nev., April 11-14 (North Hall, Booth N4506).
