Panasonic Corporation, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., Sony Corporation and X6D Limited (XPAND 3D) today announced their intent to collaborate on the development of a new technology standard for consumer 3D active glasses, under the name, “Full HD 3D Glasses Initiative.”

On 27 July 2011 the completed merger of Fujinon (Europe) GmbH into FUJIFILM Europe GmbH was published. With this merger Fujifilm made a major step towards the consolidation and integration of core business activities in Europe. The Gearhouse Group delivered a slick technical package for Cape Town Fashion Week 2011, in keeping with the polished look of the fashion spectacular which took place between 13th and 16th July 2011 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. Trilogy Communications, the global provider of digital intercom systems and Master Reference Generators to the broadcast industry is launching its Intercom Anywhere solution, a mobile application for its Gemini distributed matrix system.  The new mobile application which installs on Android or Windows mobile devices including PCs, tablets or Smart phones will be on display for the first time at this year’s IBC in Amsterdam on stand 10.A29.

The energy-saving features of the LED lighting equipment from movie and broadcast pioneers Litepanels, a Vitec Group brand, are well known. But Hoak Media’s KVLY television station, based in Fargo, North Dakota, have recently found that changing their studio lighting to Litepanels has brought a host of other benefits in addition to the energy savings dividends.

A new four-year agreement reached with the International Skating Union (ISU) means the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) will exclusively manage European electronic media rights of all major ISU events until 2015.
