Solid State Logic is pleased to announce that Jason Kelly has been appointed Product Manager for its new Live console. With a 25-year career that spans live sound production, live event systems design and implementation and technical support management, Kelly has developed a solid understanding of the key aspects of the pro audio industry. In his new role, he will spearhead the recent introduction of SSL’s ‘Live’ console, which brings to the stage the industry standard, sonic legacy of the SSL brand.

Solid State Logic is pleased to announce the appointment of Set Square as its  Live Console partner in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The company, owned and operated by Dave Lee, who has worked in the Dubai live industry for over 15 years, has purchased an SSL Live. L300 for rentals and will handle distribution of both the L300 and L500 throughout the UAE.

MudRock Recording Studios, a premiere, commercial recording facility built to service clients of the Nashville on the Brazos record label, stepped up to a Solid State Logic AWS 948 Hybrid Console/Controller to complete its high-end studio vision. Founded by entrepreneur and vocalist Ken Goldsmith, whose creative vision drives the studio, the facility additionally caters to local and national bands featuring multiple rooms that cover everything from simple rehearsals to full blown music video production.

Solid State Logic is proud to begin the roll out of the U.S. reseller network for SSL Live consoles with the appointment of professional audio equipment and services company Spectrum Sound. The announcement is the first of many with a steady stream of industry leading rental and resale providers preparing to join the SSL Live reseller network. Spectrum Sound has been serving the Live Sound industry for nearly 40 years and is well known for providing quality products, systems integration and support.

Building on the continuing interest of Solid State Logic’s dive into live audio production, the company is regularly adding to its commercial distribution network for the new SSL Live console. As a result of this enthusiasm, the company has appointed Alfa Audio as the official SSL Live dealer in Denmark and Arva Trading will oversee distribution in Sweden.

A Solid State Logic C100 HDS Digital Broadcast Console and a C10 HD Compact Broadcast Console were chosen to power the HD audio productions for Yle, the national broadcasting company for Finland, and one of 23 founding broadcasting organizations of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). Serving a viewing population of 5.3 million people across five television and seven radio channels, the mandate for full HD production required upgrading facilities in Helsinki and Tampere to meet the demand for the new formats. The SSL consoles, residing in two production studios in Tampere, offer the professional feature set necessary to for the state-of-the-art Yle facilities.

A Solid State Logic C10 HD Compact Broadcast Console, is driving the audio in the new HD facilities for Channel 5 Public Broadcasting (KNPB). In addition to local and PBS programming, the station is the only fixed uplink facility in the northern Nevada area producing  spot uplinks for the national news and business facilities, such as CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, Bloomberg and FOX News. The C10 HD provides the features that fit KNPB’s production needs now, with the flexibility to handle new productions in the future.

As the parent company for public television’s THIRTEEN, a flagship station for PBS, and Long Island-based WLIW21, WNET’s programming reaches over 19-million viewers in the New York Metropolitan area.

The University of Salford has chosen a Solid State Logic C10 HD Compact Broadcast Console to power the live production program in its new £30 million digital learning, teaching and research facility at MediaCityUK. As the centerpiece for Studio A Sound, the console is used for a wide range of live production teaching situations from one-on-one interview and panel programs, to music programs featuring everything from a pop band to a full classical orchestra.

TI Broadcast Solutions Group, a company that designs, implements and supports major broadcast facilities for companies that include NBC, Telemundo, Univision, Sinclair Broadcast Group and Hidden Compact Digital Media, has specified four Solid State Logic C10 HD Compact Broadcast Consoles for two new major television studio facilities in Texas.

UK broadcaster ITV has been evolving its approach to regional news production and in turn has been remodeling its studios to embrace a flexible way of working. As part of this move, new facilities have been built in the Wales, Channel, Tyne Tees, Central, West Country, and Anglia ITV regions - all of which have SSL C10 HD Plus broadcast consoles in their sound studios.
