Brazil’s Emissoras Pioneiras de Televisão (EPTV), an affiliate of the TV Globo Network covering the São Paulo State and Minas Gerais State regions, has expanded its live sports and studio production capabilities with the recent purchase of a significant quantity of high-definition production equipment and systems from Grass Valley™. The broadcaster has also entered into a multi-year Service Level Agreement to protect the equipment and ensure continued support.

Panasonic Corporation announced that it has reached an agreement with Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS), the host broadcaster of the XXXth Olympiad, which begin on July 27, 2012, in London, UK, on the use of its AG-3DP1 and AG-3DA1 professional integrated twin-lens 3D camera recorders for 3D broadcasts of the event.

Panasonic Europe confirmed the European availability of its high definition studio camera the AK-HC3500. Created for direct-to-air broadcast applications, the new camera is equipped with exclusive image processing and colour reproduction functions for the highest quality in 1080/59.94i and 1080/50i image acquisition.

Korean Broadcasting Systems (KBS), the largest broadcasting company in South Korea, has outfitted its new high-definition OB van with HARMAN’s Studer Vista 9 digital mixing console. Broadcast Solutions GmbH of Germany installed the Vista 9, along with a complete audio/video system within the vehicle. The OB van was built by Broadcast Solutions and Dongyang Digital Co., Ltd. of South Korea. The van was first put to use at the 2011 IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) World Championships in Daegu, Korea, held August 27 to September 4.

Bethesda Cathedral in eastern Singapore has solved the problem sudden peaks in the volume of its AV presentations by investing in a Jünger Audio LEVEL MAGIC™ two-channel loudness normaliser. The unit has been added to the signal path between the Cathedral’s new Allen & Heath iLive digital mixing system and the distribution patch bay to automatically control the levels on any incoming signal source, regardless of its input level.
