World renowned trials rider Danny MacAskill returned to his home island of Skye in Scotland to take in the magic of a solar eclipse and create one of the most memorable photos of the year.

The sun-powered plane Solar Impulse 2 (Si2) landed in New York on Saturday, flying past the Statue of Liberty before landing at John F. Kennedy International Airport to complete the final leg across North America on its history-making journey around the world without using a drop of fuel.

Radio Television Malaysia’s Orchestra celebrated their 50th Anniversary with a bang by being the first RTM production to be recorded in 5.1 Surround Sound. Under the direction of conductor Datuk Mokhzani Ismail a 50 piece orchestra performed their magic and mesmerized a full house audience in the historic Auditorium Perdana, Angkasapuri.

Swan Lake is regarded as one of the world's most popular ballets of all time, coming close after The Nutcracker. Russian composer Tchaikovsky’s familiar music is one reason for the ballet’s enduring popularity. The ballet premiered in 1877 at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow as The Lake of the Swans. Although the first version flopped (Reisenger), the second production choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov in 1894 brought the ballet the success it holds today. Most of today's versions are based on the St Petersburg 1894 production.

Bristol-based event production company SXS was recently commissioned by the Royal Borough of Greenwich to provide sound and full technical production for the royal unveiling of the Cutty Sark in Greenwich. This followed a £50m restoration project as a result of fire damage to the 143-year-old clipper back in 2007.

The Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre (TMAC) is a lively and unique multipurpose performance space located in Taunton, Somerset, UK, and dedicated to staging an array of shows, events and activities for the whole community embracing music, dance, drama, comedy, spoken word and other genres. Just before the coronavirus pandemic temporarily halted the entire entertainment industry, TMAC took delivery of a brand new Zero 88 FLX lighting control console, complete with two wings, which was specified by technical manager Kevin Stratton

When Taiwan’s National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying) hosted a revival of the German/Taiwanese co-production of Puccini’s Turandot earlier this year, Mr Chien-hao Kuo, lighting designer and head of lighting, boldly chose to replace all the discharge moving lights of the original design with LED fixtures.He carefully selected 26 Ayrton Khamsin-S profiles which were supplied to the venue from its rental stock by Hispot Workshop of Taipei, Taiwan, a company which has been dedicated to theatre design and equipment rental for over twenty-six years. Mr Kuo’s choice was a considered one as he had used Ayrton Khamsin-S on several operas in the past and knew them to be both powerful and quiet.

As the project evolved we changed to the idea of a dream; something contemplative to walk through." Contemporary composer Martyn Ware describing one of the more diverting entertainments commissioned by the Lord Mayor's office to delight visitors to London throughout this Olympian summer. "To give it meaning the music needed some narrative element."

Warszawy (Dramatic Theater of the capital city of Warsaw), is very happy with the new Robe Tarrantulas – the most powerful of the current LED wash beam range – that are part of the house lighting rig for this important venue, which has been at the forefront of producing Polish drama since 1949 and ensconced in the Palace of Culture and Science venue since 1955.

Squattro tracking camera support systems from The Camera Store (TCS), a Vitec Group company, captured the Royal Shakespeare Company's highly acclaimed production of Richard II in Stratford-on-Avon on November 13. The play was televised live to 346 cinemas across Britain and will be relayed as encore screenings to cinemas around the world. RSC artistic director Gregory Doran directed David Tennant in the title role with Jane Lapotaire as the Duchess of Gloucester, Emma Hamilton as The Queen, Oliver Ford Davies as the Duke of York, Michael Pennington as John of Gaunt and Nigel Lindsay as Bolingbroke.

A Skqattro tracking pedestal from The Camera Store followed the action during a National Theatre Live broadcast of Alan Bennett's new play, People, for cinema audiences around the world which took place on 21 March. Frances de la Tour plays Dorothy, joined by Selina Cadell and Linda Bassett.

Video services and expertise from TDC – Technical Direction Company wowed audiences across the world in Visions of Vienna – a multi-media artistic collaboration between the Vienna Tourist Board and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. The Sydney Symphony Orchestra live in concert was combined with visuals celebrating the artistic and musical heritage of Vienna from Ample Projects and projected onto the roof or “sails” of the Sydney Opera House and broadcast to music lovers across the world in a live web-stream. The event took place at approximately 8:30pm (AEDT) on Wednesday, 4 February 2015.

There are two components to Vivid Light. The first is the Light Walk, which is the publicinterface of Vivid Sydney. This includes numerous light installations by artists. Secondly, also forming part of the Light Walk, are projections onto some of Sydney’s most iconic buildings including the Museum of Contemporary Art and Customs House. We are thrilled to work with TDC in bringing the artists’ vision to light.”

Teldex Studio Berlin continues to enjoy a busy recording schedule, both in the famous Recording Hall and on location. One of the most significant of the recent mobile recordings was the Vienna Philharmonic Summer Night Concert at the spectacular Schönbrunn Palace on May 30th.
