In Zaryadye Park in Moscow, within sight of Red Square and the Kremlin, an extensive installation with audio technology from the Berlin manufacturer Stage Tec has been put into operation. This park is an unusual interplay of nature and architecture.

In the year celebrating the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, a spectacular show is touring Germany: a 40 piece symphony orchestra, a rock band and 12 musical actors are coming together with choirs of up to 3000 singers in 11 cities to perform the 'Pop-Oratorio Luther' production. Countless components from Stage Tec ensure outstanding audio for these live events, forming a large audio network with three embedded mixing consoles.

The Konzert Theater Bern is the largest concert theater in the Bern-Mittelland area. Last summer, the house underwent a technical upgrade. Stage Tec, the Berlin-based manufacturer of professional audio technology, replaced the AURUS Platinum consoles installed in 2017 with the latest generation of digital mixing consoles, the AVATUS.

On the 1st of October 2010, Swiss TV produced the opera Aida am Rhein (Aida on the Rhine) live on air. This was the third live production of a famous opera where the individual scenes only come together to form a whole on the viewers’ screens at home. A large digital audio network comprising numerous STAGETEC components and integrating three digital mixing consoles ensured exceptional sound quality for Verdi’s opera.

During a technical upgrade, the existing setup at the recording studio of the Herkulessaal – the history-packed concert hall of the Munich Residenz – has been enhanced with additional STAGETEC systems. The main purpose of the studio is recording and live broadcasting performances of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, which uses Herkulessaal regularly.

The „Schauspielhaus Bochum“ (Playhouse Bochum) is one of Germany’s biggest and best known theatres. Build in 1908 as a Variety theatre, it became the town theatre in 1915 and was the biggest stage in the “Ruhrgebiet”. During an air raid in 1944 it was nearly completely destroyed, and then rebuilt based on the design of architect Gerhard Moritz Graubner in an operation lasting until 1953.

Persistent and torrential rain didn’t dampen any spirits or enthusiasm at Silverstone Circuit in the UK where moving light manufacturer Robe UK, rental and production company Clearsound and Silverstone’s events and conference team transformed the world-famous race track’s ‘Wing’ building and conference centre ‘resplendent red’ for the evening of 30^th September 2020.This massive effort was proudly in support the #WeMakeEvents Global Day of Action. #LightItInRed, one of many elements making up this general technical production industry alliance, helped coordinate thousands of similar lighting interventions which took place across 25 countries and all continents … to highlight the urgent need for the global live events / entertainment industry to be allowed to safely get back to work.

Tallinn, Estonia-based technical production and rental company Strikken has been doing its bit to support the nation’s fight against coronavirus by voluntarily assisting the Synlab Eesti OU laboratory in collecting and transporting Covid-19 test samples gathered from all around the country. This is tied into research being conducted by the University of Tartu, including a three-month study on the prevalence of coronavirus among both symptomatic and asymptomatic people. At least 16,000 residents – based on a random statistical sample – will be interviewed and invited to be tested for coronavirus.

Taking inspiration from a swarm of butterflies in mid-flight, a group of students from Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) developed the unique ‘Flights of Fancy’ display for the 2014 Singapore Night Festival. The installation, which was the culmination of the University’s 10-week Urban Lighting course, used the Singapore National Design Centre’s expansive space to bring a true on-of-a-kind experience to life with help from HARMAN’s Martin Professional Exterior 400 LED lighting fixtures.

The New York City Center is one of the nation’s most renowned venues, host to the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, the American Ballet Theatre and a year-round program of concerts, theatrical performances and other events. Beginning in May 2010, the New York City Center embarked on a full-scale, $57 million renovation project that encompassed a complete redesign of the facility and the main auditorium, with a HARMAN Studer Vista 5 42-fader digital mixing console at the heart of the completely upgraded audio system.

The Grosses Festspielhaus (Great Festival Hall), home to the famed Salzburg Festival--one of the most famous performance spectaculars in the world--has revamped its main audio system for the first time in two decades. The upgraded system includes a completely redesigned control room, featuring a Studer Vista 5 digital console. Celebrating the hall’s 50th and the festival’s 90th anniversaries, the Vista 5 was chosen for its optimum recording capabilities, with performance recordings in demand throughout the year.

As part of its current restoration, the Moscow Conservatory has purchased a Studer Vista 9 digital console for recording, post-production and broadcast from its Great Hall, as well as a Soundcraft Vi1 digital console for multipurpose use, including at front of house when required.

After three years of construction, the Royal College of Music (KMH) in Stockholm was opened officially by the Swedish royal couple. Stage Tec equipment has been integrated into the new, modern glass building: an AURUS platinum, two CRESCENDO platinum, three NEXUS monitor controllers, and a large NEXUS audio network with three routers and ten Base Devices.

Panasonic’s “Electronics Meets Crafts” installation has won the prize of Best Storytelling at the Milan Design Awards, the second year in a row Panasonic has been recognised for its exhibition at Fuori Salone.

Australian lighting designer Trudy Dalgleish appreciated the quietness and other features of Robe T1 Profiles and T1 Fresnels that are part of the new house rig at Her Majesty’s Theatre in Adelaide, which reopened in June 2020 after a major 2-year redevelopment. The State Opera of South Australia’s production of iconic Australian drama Summer of the 17^th Doll … was the first show to utilise the new facilities in the 1467-seat main auditorium – which includes the 24 new Robe moving lights, twelve of each type. The Summer of the 17^th Doll action is set in the Melbourne suburb of Carlton in 1953, focussing on the lives of six central characters.
