Audio specialist Sennheiser has won the coveted Audio Installation of the year at this year’s AV Awards for its contribution to the audio system for the David Bowie is exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

The spectacular culmination to a weekend of celebration for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee was the concert that was staged at the Queen Victoria Memorial, against the backdrop of Buckingham Palace. Organised by Gary Barlow – and, incidentally, earning him an OBE – it featured some of the biggest names of the world of entertainment, from Shirley Bassey and Tom Jones, to Elton John, Paul McCartney, Kylie Minogue and Cliff Richard. Last month, Invisible Cities, the world’s first large-scale opera for wireless headphones, completed its limited run of sold-out performances at Los Angeles’ Union Station – the largest railway terminal in the western United States. Sennheiser Group and the Shanghai Concert Hall have agreed to terms that officially renames the Shanghai Concert Hall, “Sennheiser Shanghai Concert Hall”, effective March 10, 2014. This is the first time in Sennheiser’s history that a performance centre has been named after the company and signals a new beginning for Sennheiser Group. This prestigious event also introduces the formation of Sennheiser-owned record label, Sennheiser Media. Sennheiser Media is a subsidiary of Sennheiser. Famed Chinese musical prodigy, A-Bu is the label’s first signing and Sennheiser is pleased to launch A Bu’s first album at this event.

The amphitheater in the Austrian town of Bregenz is known worldwide. The venue is located directly on the shore of Lake Constance and the stage itself floats on the water. But not just the place is remarkable. The stage designs are equally beautiful and impressive - created for two-year productions, which on its own enlarges the borders for creativity. This year, luminaires from SGM Light played an important role in Markus Holdermann’s stage concept.
