After Austria’s first and only previous Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) victory in 1966, Conchita Wurst succeeded in bringing the ESC 2015 from Copenhagen to Vienna. The 60th anniversary of the Song Contest is truly historic in many ways: Geographical boundaries have been broken with the unprecedented inclusion of Australia into the 2015 Eurovision family and the motto “Building Bridges” aimed at making connections across national borders, across cultures and indeed across decades celebrating tolerance and inclusion while promoting respect and tolerance.

On 27th August 2015, audio specialist Sennheiser presented an extraordinary concert at London’s Central Hall Westminster, featuring performances by Grammy award-winning artist Imogen Heap and the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie orchestra conducted by Jonathan Stockhammer. The concert was part of an exclusive event that kicked off Sennheiser’s “Reshaping excellence” campaign, celebrating Sennheiser’s 70-year history of innovation and offering a very first look at the audio specialist’s next milestone audiophile product. The concert – including two world-firsts – was mixed in truly cutting-edge fashion by Tonmeister Gregor Zielinsky to demonstrate the immense potential of 3D immersive audio.

A 22-question, multiple-choice questionnaire was designed to measure the attitudes and preferences of sports fans with reasonable detail (descriptive research). Through random probability sampling, fans were interviewed at a variety of venues – both onsite at major sports events and at public areas such as sports bars, airports and commercial centers. It covered five sports (football/soccer, basketball, hockey, baseball and tennis) across Germany, Belgium, Spain and three major cities of the United States (New York, Chicago and Dallas). Respondents were all 18 years of age and older and identified as a keen spectator of any sport (at least two hours per week spent following sports in person, on television or through any other media). Cross tabulation and chi square segmentation analysis was utilized to formulate results.

El Clásico is a clash between Spain’s two biggest clubs Real Madrid CF and FC Barcelona, and one of the biggest and most prestigious matches in world football. The first El Clásico of the 2015/2016 La Liga season was played in Madrid in November. In charge of producing the host broadcast feed for the game, MEDIAPRO wanted to broadcast feeds in both HD and Ultra-HD. Tour d’Azerbaijan is an international bicycle race that takes place annually in Azerbaijan and is part of the UCI Europe Tour. For a couple of years German System Integrator Broadcast Solutions has been supporting the local broadcaster with technology and manpower. The major production vehicles used were a Streamline OB Van and a DSNG, delivered to host broadcaster Baku Media Center plus additional production support.
Over the last four years, Pac-12 Networks has developed this model of broadcasting and is now inspiring others to do the same – in fact, its model is the inspiration to many of the industry’s big-hitters, with the likes of ESPN, Sky Sports, Time Warner Cable and Fox Sports looking at Pac-12’s infrastructure to help them become more efficient.
