TV Skyline realized its first 3D Production

Plazamedia together with TV Skyline produced the Universum Boxing-Evening on Saturday 4th December at the Sports and Convention Center in Schwerin. The full-service provider for TV and New Media realized the TV signal of the boxing event in 3D, HD and SD. In cooperation with SPORT1, Deutsche Telekom and HD+ the TV signals of the fights were distributed via the T-Entertain platform on channel 311 and via Astra on SPORT1 in 3D. In addition the Polish pay-tv operator TVN started its regular 3D channel “nShow 3D” with this boxing event.

TRON: Legacy

Between 30th November and 2nd December, the Queen Elizabeth Hall on London's Southbank was used as a canvas to trailer Disney’s 3D digital movie, TRON: Legacy. The architectural 3D projection mapping by creative agency Guided Collective in collaboration with Flat-e / Seeper was carried out using six Christie HD18K projectors supplied by large scale projection specialists, QED Productions, and was accompanied by the music from the Daft Punk soundtrack.

At this year’s Tonmeistertagung at Leipzig, Natural View Systems from Buttenheim (Germany) presented a world first: the iVu display system for spatially enhanced stereoscopic reproduction of video images. The patents pending algorithm used by iVu computes a 3-D image signal from any normal video programme. The system outputs the processed signal in real-time and is applicable to video content in any format and resolution.

Outside Broadcast Produced 3 International Test Matches of the Italian Rugby Team in 3D

During three weekends in November Outside Broadcast produced three test matches of the Italian Rugby Team – Italy - Argentina (Verona-Nov 13th), Italy - Australia (Firenze, Nov 20th) and Italy - Fiji Islands (Modena, Nov 27th) and all in 3D. The 3D content was broadcasted live in Italy at “La7” and the match against Australia was also shown in 3D in selected cinemas of “The Space” chain. In Italy it was the first time such an event was broadcasted live and for free.
