Pixel Power, Ltd., a leading provider of broadcast graphics systems, today began demonstrating a solution for adding stereoscopic 3D branding graphics to broadcast channels. On display April 12-15 at NAB 2010 in Las Vegas, Stand N2034, the demonstration uses Pixel Power's standard Clarity™ 3000 graphics hardware with a preview of an enhanced version of the Clarity 3D software option to add 3D channel branding graphics to incoming video.

TVLogic, a designer and manufacturer of broadcast & professional high definition monitors and displays, announces support for import and export of popular color grading 3D LUT (Look-up table) formats for highly accurate color matching between XVM-245W monitors.

Silicon Imaging will unveil the SI-3D camera at the National Association of Broadcasters Convention, April 12-15. The new SI-3D stereo camera utilizes dual SI-2K Mini heads integrated with a single processor, which mixes and synchs the left- and right-eye images into a single 3D QuickTime file. These can be recorded with the new SI-3D Minideck Recorder, or fed into the new SI-3D Live system for stereoscopic SMPTE HD-SDI broadcast or 2K Cinema playback and projection.

Silicon Imaging will introduce its new portable SI-3D Minideck solid-state recorder at the National Association of Broadcasters Convention in Las Vegas, April 12-15. The lightweight recorder can simultaneously capture 12-bit RAW 2K or HD images from two SI-2K cameras, or from the new SI-3D stereo camera. The SI-3D Minideck processes content for real-time viewing and storage on removable 2.5" SATA SSD drives. A single 250GB SSD is capable of storing about 30 minutes of uncompressed stereo 2K footage, including audio and timecode, or up to two hours of stereo material using the CineFormRAW QuickTime codec.

Snell today announced that systems across the company's award-winning product portfolio are 3D-ready and already being used to support 3D productions around the world. Equipped to support image processing, live production, automation, workflow control, and distribution within the 3D environment, Snell's 3D-capable systems allow broadcasters to leverage powerful, familiar tools in meeting the rising demand for 3D content. Among the Snell products enabling 3D are the company's Alchemist Ph.C – HD standards converter, Kahuna SD/HD multi-format production switcher, RollCall control and monitoring range, and Morpheus automation.

AMP Visual TV announced today that it has chosen Sony Professional to equip the first French outside broadcast van for 3D production. The final delivery of the van is scheduled for April 2010. The collaboration between the two companies led to developing a new generation vehicle whose innovative production methods will provide live broadcasting in totally immersive 3D.

EVS announces that TopVision Telekommunikation, one of Europe’s leading Outside Broadcast service provider, recently made use of its Instant Tapeless Technology for the live production of the Bundesliga match between Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Hamburger SV in 3D HD. The production, which was broadcast by Sky Germany, was the first of its kind in Germany.

The DVB Project is tackling 3DTV, one of the hottest subjects in the media world today. Many alternative systems have been developed for what is called 'First Generation 3DTV'. Broadcasters in different parts of the world have announced their intention to start 3DTV broadcasting this year (2010). There are test broadcasts currently available, or soon to be available, by satellite, and among other events, certain football matches in the 2010 World Cup will be shot in 3DTV.
