Preparations for the 2013 Schladming Alpine World Championships,which will take place from the 4th – 17th February, are in full swing. The entire region is thrilled to be able to offer both athletes and guests a perfect platform for the event.

Much praise for the level of preparations
The inspection of the World Championship Men’s and Women’s course just took place. Representatives of international ski organizations and the ORF gave a careful and stringent inspection. Much praise was given by the FIS for the first-class co-operation and the newly built infrastructure.

IBC operations for the production of the 2013 FIS Alpine Worldcup in Schladming

Media Center and IBC in the Schladming Convention Center
In addition to the impressive ski stadium the second highlight is the newly constructed Schladming Convention Center. It will serve as a media center and the International Broadcast Center (IBC) and offers seating for up to 2200 people. The Schladming Convention Center reflects modern Austrian architecture and with regard to environmentally friendly technology, multi-functional usage and gastronomical offerings, it surpasses perfection. Rooms perfectly equipped with the latest in media technology, available for the international press, will enable them to offer excellent press coverage of the Alpine Ski World Championships.

sono delivers and installs the equipment for the IBC
Munich based company sono Studiotechnik GmbH has received the order to provide the IBC operations for the production of the 2013 FIS Alpine Worldcup in Schladming. As part of the system sono will provide a production gallery for the live transmission of the daily press conference and take care of all fiber connections between the IBC and remote production sites “Planai” and “Medal Plaza”. Riedel Communications has been won as a sub-contractor for fiber links and intercom.
