Ticket sales for UEFA EURO 2012 launched

Tickets sold on UEFA.com exclusively between 1 to 31 March only

The sales of tickets for the UEFA EURO 2012 started today, with simultaneous ceremonies held in Warsaw and Kyiv to mark the day.

Direct sales of tickets for UEFA EURO 2012 will be made via UEFA.com exclusively as from 1 March and until 31 March. During this month, everyone will have an equal chance to buy tickets, irrespective of when the application is made. Once the application period is closed, there will be a lottery to determine successful applicants for all those matches which have been oversubscribed.

A total of 1.4 million tickets will be made available for the final tournament of the UEFA European Football Championship 2012 and around 85% will end up in the hands of fans, either through UEFA’s official website, via the national associations of the 16 participating teams or via competitions organised by sponsors of the competition. The remaining tickets will be allocated to non-participating member associations, to other members of the football family such as confederations, clubs, referees and other officials, to host governments and the host cities, to VIP guests, as well as for the corporate hospitality programme.

There are several types of tickets available:

• Individual Match Tickets: for single matches;

• Follow My Team: to follow a specific team during the group-phase or the whole tournament;

• Venue Series: to attend all matches played in a specific stadium, be it for the groupstage or for the knockout stage only.

By offering this new type of ticket – called Venue Series – UEFA wishes to give the opportunity to people living in the vicinity of any of the host cities to attend all matches taking place on their door-step.

Finally, disabled persons have not been forgotten, and they will have the option to buy tickets for themselves and for an accompanying person.

Further details on the type of tickets available can be found in the ticketing section of UEFA.com
