Arqiva delivers live Q&A for Arts Alliance Media’s ‘Chasing Legends’

Arqiva provides Arts Alliance Media with OB & satellite services on its IS905 Digital Cinema platform

Arqiva, on behalf of Arts Alliance Media, has provided Outside Broadcasts and satellite services for a live cinema event ‘Chasing Legends’. This film tells the story of Mark Cavendish’s 2009 Tour de France bid, and its UK premiere was followed by a live Q&A session at Cineworld The O2. This was filmed, uplinked and distributed by Arqiva to 52 UK cinemas.

Barrie Woolston, Commercial Director at Arqiva Broadcast & Media, said: “Arqiva is very pleased to be providing Arts Alliance Media with all their satellite services for live events into UK digital cinemas. The live Q&A session of ‘Chasing Legends’, featuring interviews with Mark Cavendish and his team, was filmed by an Arqiva Outside Broadcasts unit. It was then uplinked by one of our SNG trucks and turned around through our teleport facilities onto satellite platforms including Arqiva’s Digital Cinema platform on IS905. This event highlights the breadth of Arqiva’s broadcast offering and the enormous contribution it can make to bringing live events to digitally enabled cinemas in the UK – or indeed anywhere in the world.”

Arqiva provides robust satellite and IP networks for the managed delivery of entertainment, information and advertising worldwide. It works with leading media distributors to provide electronic delivery services for feature films and live events into digital cinemas across Europe.
