The new dimension
posted:
It focuses on two of the subjects the film industry is occupied with the most at the moment: stereo-3D-production and digital workflow. The new technological developments alter the working process and open up new chances. Manufacturers and developers are affected as well as cinematographers and DITs, editors and set designers, producers, directors of production and production managers.
3D Live-Production
On Saturday, it is all about stereoscopy – from the production preparation to the finished three-dimensional visual experience. In the morning, tools for previsualisation and the new technology for shooting are introduced in 30-minute lectures. The afternoon starts off with the presentation of selected and current best practice examples. Afterwards, producers from Bavaria demonstrate the technology and service they have on offer for the new cinema. And even more: The researchers of the Fraunhofer-Institut give an outlook on the trends and developments which are to be expected in the future.
Sunday is dedicated to 3D and the cinema. Subjects are for example stereoscopic projection systems and digital distribution for cinemas and finally the 3D live-production which has been used more broadly for the first time during the football world cup.
On Monday, modern workflows and archiving are the main items on the agenda. The talks deal with special features of the film workflow and scanning as well as solutions for archiving the footage and platforms for processing. Besides, Kodak presents a new film emulsion.
