World’s first Esports Super Slomo
Designed in collaboration with EVS, the new extenders enable real time recording of 240 Hz gaming streams for later review and analysis of events. To achieve solutions using standard broadcast equipment, computer generating 1080p 240 Hz gaming signals are recorded in four parallel 60 Hz SDI streams on EVS XT-VIA servers for super slow-motion playback.
In addition to super slo-mo action replay, the new devices enable direct broadcast of esports events via on-air transmission and online and social media distribution. The signals are compatible with large screen display video processors and can be switched using the Draco tera KVM matrix switch to create the ideal arena videowall management system to provide dynamic control and raise the level of excitement during live events.
“Major esports events are attended by thousands of passionate spectators in major venues and watched by millions online,” said Mark Hempel, IHSE Head of Product Management. “Our solution integrates the separate venue presentation and broadcast transmission workflows into one. Not only does this simplify the on-site infrastructure but it ensures that the same content is available everywhere at a pristine quality level that greatly enhances the overall impact of the event and enjoyment of viewers.”
Nicolas Bourdon, SVP Marketing at EVS said: “Developed to work exclusively in combination with the EVS Dyvi software defined live switcher and XT-VIA live video server, this extender opens new opportunities for esports production teams to take advantage of live and stored content to deliver solutions and visual effects that reach far beyond the limits of conventional switching systems.”
