VSM Controls Cheetah Routers Manufactured by PESA

L-S-B exhibits with Sales Partner VSM Control in Las Vegas at Booth N4920

In cooperation with sales partner VSM Control, L-S-B Broadcast Technologies GmbH presents the latest software features around the superior VSM control system Virtual Studio Manager (VSM). From 11 to 14 April the manufacturer-independent VSM intercom control and further VSM innovations are displayed at booth N4920 in the Las Vegas Convention Center. In addition the US American manufacturer PESA shows the new VSM control of its Cheetah routers for the first time. The VSM is the manufacturer-independent superior control system manufactured by L-S-B. On the basis of an IP network structure, the VSM allows all production and broadcast-related devices to be controlled and monitored using a freely configurable user interface.

PESA’s Cheetah line of routing switchers combines the latest in robust technology with flexibility and is well suited for government, military, broadcast, mobile, telco, and corporate applications where large numbers of signals need to be switched. Cheetah provides high-quality signal routing with matrix sizes 64X64 up to 1024X1024. L-S-B software developers have implemented the PESA protocol into the vsmStudio software providing two different control scenarios for the routers: On the one hand the Cheetah routers can communicate directly with the VSM and thus be operated on VSM control panels. On the other hand the VSM is compatible with the PESA controller PERC2000 enabling the routers connected to the PERC2000 to be controlled at the VSM user interface. Both the PESA router control and the VSM control system are based on an IP network structure. Thus all router controls of the manufacturer can be controlled with the VSM.

VSM Intercom Control

One of the most important features of the Virtual Studio Manager is its manufacturer-independence: With the latest Intercom control solution the superordinate control system demonstrates this advantage again. The Intercom systems of the most established manufacturers communicate with the VSM and can therefore be controlled via the VSM panel application vsmPanel. The new software module Mx33 enables the dynamic assignment of tie-lines, for example enabling the direct dynamic connection of codecs for defined switches to an Intercom system. A further software module Mx34 allows assigning functionalities such as talk and listen to single buttons on the Intercom system. This manufacturer-independent VSM Intercom control solution can be seen at the NAB Show at the VSM Control booth N4920.
