TSL Systems announces expansion of structured cabling service at IBC

Company offers complete consultation, design, installation and support services

TSL Systems will announce expansion of their fibre and structured cabling service at IBC2016 (stand 10.B41), covering planning, design and installation of WLAN, cabling, fibre and CCTV. The company, which celebrated its 30th birthday at the end of July, says the service has been designed to fit perfectly with its existing offerings of consultancy, system design, installation and support.

The fibre and structured cabling service helps companies improve their infrastructure and security. Services offered include a full site survey, system design and project management of the installation, along with testing, full documentation and network security. Whether installing site-wide WLAN or installing fibre stage boxes for cameras in stadia, TSL Systems works with each company to ensure minimal disruption to the day-to-day operation of their business.

TSL Systems will also be demonstrating its lifecycle support services at IBC2016, combining asset management, risk assessment and warranty management, together with a support portal to keep its customers up to date with the latest software and firmware updates. Broadcasters cannot afford to have any studio downtime, so this service package helps cover that eventuality, and is an option chosen by many different facilities. “At Edge Hill University, it’s all about investing in the future, for both our students and our technology,” said Donald Moffatt, Media Technology Development Manager at Edge Hill University. “TSL Systems’ lifecycle services have proved invaluable, keeping us fully operational in this competitive education marketplace.”

A leading supplier of lifecycle services for the broadcast and AV industries, TSL Systems has worked on a number of recent high profile projects, including acting as System Integrators for Marjan Television Networks’ new facility at Wimbledon Studios, London. Robert Le Merle, MTN Broadcast Operations Director, commented, “Since the opening of our new facility, TSL Systems provides technical support for our systems. Studio and post facilities constantly evolve in reaction to the demands of production, however, we only have a small in-house tech team. Knowing that TSL are up-to-date with our systems provides reassurance but also allows me to temporarily scale-up engineering resources and swiftly implement change projects, whilst keeping op-ex costs low.”

TSL System’s reputation of delivering to a very challenging timeline is what helped them win the tender to work with OSN, the Dubai-based satellite broadcaster serving the Middle East and North Africa. The recently-completed project involved relocating their studio facilities and adding new technologies, with multiple services that were required to be moved live with zero down time. TSL had 42 days in which to prepare the infrastructure and civil engineering, configure and troubleshoot the systems and also provide training to OSN. They also had the challenge of linking the two OSN buildings via fibre and extending the broadcast network connectivity between the buildings to allow secure access to content and the sending/receiving of live video. With their in-depth knowledge of construction sites, TSL’s engineers were able to assist with more than just the technology aspect, ensuring a safe and secure environment for the equipment migration and installation. The complete system was delivered in time for a few days’ rehearsals before a major live broadcast.
