TSL Extends Audio Monitoring Range with 16 Channels in 1U

Already offering a powerful range of compact and feature-filled audio monitoring devices for control rooms and facilities, TSL has further extended the PAM product range with the PAM1-3G16. This strips audio from dual stream 3Gb/s SDI inputs, displaying up to 16 audio channels on high resolution bargraphs in a very compact 1U cabinet.

As well as providing accurate level metering it has loudness monitoring to ITU BS1770/71 built in. Alongside Dolby D and E decoding the unit is also capable of displaying Dolby metadata on one of the twin OLED screens. Alternatively, one of the screens can be set as a confidence video monitor.

Putting all the functionality in one device, the unit also includes high quality stereo speakers through tuned ports. The PAM1-3G16 autosenses inputs, and user pre-sets can be set for instant recall of input and output status, making it flexible in operation.

"Space is at a premium in many installations today, most obviously in outside broadcast trucks but also in areas like master control and ingest," said Martin Dyster, business development manager, audio. "We already have a 16 channel dual SDI monitoring device: customers told us they love it but would love it even more if it was only half the height.So we are introducing the PAM1-3G16: the functionality they want in a 1U cabinet."
