ToolsOnAir Introduces Version 1.7  of just:play and just:live

just:live

ToolsOnAir, creators of innovative QuickTime-based workflows for broadcast video production professionals, have announced the release of version 1.7 of their just:play and just:live video playout solutions.

Based on the input and suggestions of a wide cross-section of users, version 1.7 of just:play and just:live includes an enhanced user interface to manage multiple playout channels without the need for increased control unit hardware. The new interface is designed to show more information in a clear and concise single screen display.

One of the most significant enhancements in version 1.7 of just:live is the implementation of just:MOS functionality, bringing tight integration with newsroom systems including AP ENPS and OCTOPUS. just:live is the only solution offering integrated video and graphics support for lower thirds, triggered directly by the news room's online system.

Other new enhancements in version 1.7 include an easy-to-use Clip Split functionality, useful for inserting commercial breaks within a movie or longer feature. Media files within the library are now displayed with metadata, streamlining file search and management within the media library. And a new shuffle function enables users running multiple channels to schedule playouts with different rundowns using the same content.

With last year's introduction of the "TV Station in a Mac Mini" paradigm, ToolsOnAir's Broadcast Suite has been receiving considerable attention from broadcast playout providers. Using Apple's new generation Mac Mini with a Thunderbolt-based multi-I/O interface, an entire professional playout system can fit into a single rack space and consume only 85 Watts of power. Multiple networks can fit into a small closet.
