Remote-Kit System from Thoma

THOMA Film- und Videotechnik, based in Sauerlach near Munich, presents its new Remote-Kit system. With this system conventional tripod heads can be converted quickly and easily into full-scale remote systems. The system is especially user-friendly due to the fact that it can be assembled and dismantled in just 20 minutes without any mechanical handling. This new development is appropriate for all modern Sachtler tripod heads. THOMA is developing the system further, so that in the future, Vinten heads will be compatible, as well.

Fast and user-friendly

The remote-controlled tilting and panning is based on friction-wheel drives with DC motors and integrated digital rotary encoders. The sophisticated technology guarantees jitter-free operating and there is no clearance whatsoever at the change-over point between forward and reverse operation. The electronics of the Remote-Kit function via power steering and joystick. The system also scores with its extremely high definition of 400,000 single steps per 360°.

Silent, easy to handle and indestructible

The mechanics of the system are almost silent, in fact less than 25 dB. The system therefore is ideal for studio work and animal videographers. The mounting kit fits into a small case and is perfect for travel due to its reduced weight of merely 2.5 kg. It has a network-independent outdoor function with an operating voltage of 12 V; accumulators can be used starting at 3 ampere hours. Due to the material it is made of - hardened steel - the kit is almost indestructible. The friction-wheel construction provides high protection against accidental damage. In addition, the kit as well as the plug connections are water tight according to IP65.

Installation – fast and simple

The THOMA system is especially user-friendly because it can be mounted rapidly onto the tripod head due to its quick instellation time. Existing fastening threads are used, so mechanical handling on the heads is not necessary. Conventional tools can be used in order to fix the Remote-Kit with its five components onto the tripod head.
