T-Hrvatski Telekom Deploys T-VIPS JPEG2000 Solutions for Nationwide Professional Video Contribution Network

Croatia’s leading telecommunications provider, T-Hrvatski Telekom (T-HT), a part of the Deutsche Telecom (DT) group, has selected JPEG2000-based T-VIPS TVG415 Video Gateways for its new nationwide IP video contribution network.
The T-VIPS JPEG2000 over IP solution enables T-HT to utilize unused network capacity, providing the company with an opportunity to reach a new group of customers and new revenue opportunities. The T-VIPS TVG415 is easily upgraded to HD-SDI signals without service downtime - a key T-HT requirement.

T-VIPS’ cost-effective JPEG2000 solutions provide high video quality, particularly suitable for content featuring fast action and camera movement. Furthermore, JPEG2000 delivers very low latency, with a lag of approximately 100 ms for encoding, IP transport and decoding. Such low latency is important in order to ensure simultaneous delivery from all media sources. Like all T-VIPS products, the TVG415 is designed for reliability and efficiency, enabling operators and telecommunication providers to deliver top quality services to their customers.
