Successful Broadcast Video Expo for RTS

Large interest ahead of RTS’s introduction of OMNEO-compatible RTS products

With a new record number of visitors, this year’s Broadcast Video Expo (BVE) ran from February 26-28. In 2013, the annual gathering of predominantly British, but also international, broadcast scene was held at London’s ExCeL premises for the first time. With its successful relocation to London’s Docklands, the trade event also once again lived up to the expectations for RTS.

“Our booth was outstandingly well visited throughout the fair,” reports Jon Ridel, RTS Regional Sales Manager UK & Eire. “The level of interest shown by the specialist public was exceptional.” Kamil Swobodzinski, Sales Director Europe, was delighted not only by the quantity but also by the quality of discussions: “Already at the IBC 2012, we felt the increase of consumer interest in IP-based products and technologies. In 2013, RTS will satisfy these requirements by introducing the first generation of OMNEO-compatible intercom matrix products at NAB in April.”

According to Ridel, with the BVE steadily growing in visitors and importance, the show more than satisfied the RTS team’s expectations. Additional interest was sparked by the daily raffle of RTS MH-302 headsets held at the stand.

Among the RTS core products on display were the advanced digital audio matrix ADAM-M. This compact 3U device supports eight cards as well as redundant master controllers. In combination with the MADI-16+, the ADAM-M can be configured with up to 256 ports – the most of any device in its class. The scalable and multi-channel (it supports up to 64 inputs and outputs) multi-audio digital interface card MADI-16+ was another of the products on view.

With its VLink (virtual linked intercom) software, RTS was presenting a DHCP-based communication solution for RTS intercom systems that can be implemented on numerous mobile terminal devices. The software grants remote users access from any geographical location to an RTS intercom matrix. VLink offers a multitude of flexible control possibilities and supports the session initiation protocol (SIP) for expanded connectivity. In addition, RTS showed the “V3R-FX-INTERCOM for RTS” and the “X6R-FX-INTERCOM for RTS” – the first glass-fibre interfaces for RTS systems developed by RTS’s certified partner Optocore.
