Studer by HARMAN Introduces Glacier Series of Customizable Broadcast Audio Control Surfaces

New series includes streamlined modules and a virtualized interface for comprehensive control, offering flexible configuration for a variety of applications

Studer by HARMAN today announced the new Glacier Series of customizable audio control surfaces, enabling broadcast and production facilities to adapt to a variety of applications and enhance overall efficiency. Two streamlined modules and an intuitive multi-touch graphical user interface make it easy to address different use cases and deploy the console in various configurations throughout a facility. The Glacier Series offers forwards and backwards compatibility with Studer DSP platforms, and brings new levels of control and versatility to any broadcast environment.

“Today’s on-air and production environments require dynamic flexibility, but the static physical controls on large consoles often go unused and take up valuable real estate,” said Richard Morson, Product Manager, Broadcast, HARMAN Professional Solutions. “The Studer Glacier Series eliminates the constraints of physical consoles by enabling facilities to deploy customized control surfaces that only include the necessary controls. Studer Glacier Series provides the flexibility that facilities need to address continually evolving workflows and requirements.”

The Studer Glacier Series includes two highly simplified physical surfaces that provide streamlined controls for live operation. The Central Screen Module features a vibrant display for assigning and accessing graphical user interface controls. The Fader Vistonics Module provides simplified tactile control for quick multitasking and features Studer FaderGlow for easy function or channel identification. Each module is a self-contained unit that connects to the Studer DSP Core via TCP/IP. Multiple modules can be connected together to create versatile, customized surfaces that fit any use case.

All other controls are provided virtually via the intuitive multi-touch graphical user interface (GUI). The GUI can be personalized to match the technical requirements of each user. More technical users can view as many detailed controls as they wish, while the less experienced can create simpler interfaces with only the functions and controls they need. This streamlines operation and reduces visual clutter during time-sensitive situations. The GUI also hosts comprehensive control interfaces for additional studio equipment, including broadcast automation, codec management, content management systems and more.

The Glacier Series also features forwards and backwards compatibility with Studer SCore Live and the latest Infinity Core DSP platforms.

Full Glacier Series features include:
