Sony and Deltatre Partner to Deliver 16 New Sports Graphics Vehicles

Sony and deltatre have announced an agreement to replace the digital media service company’s entire fleet of 16 digital sports vans. Sony will work alongside deltatre to create the specially designed vehicles that are essential to deltatre’s production of some of Europe’s most prominent sporting events.

This latest agreement signals the next step in a long-lasting and valued relationship with Sony. Building on the success of past projects, deltatre will overhaul its entire fleet of digital sports graphics vehicles and replace them with tailor-made vans that are 3D-ready.

The first phase of this project, delivering eight vehicles, was completed in March 2012. The second phase of eight further vehicles will be delivered by July 2012 in time for the new sports season. To make the vans a reality, Sony will work with coachbuilder Tomassini and installation specialists CRV.

The new graphics vans will include:   
•Innovative monitor stack to create a 6 x 40" monitor wall   

•Extensive ‘Patch Panel’ allowing flexible and easy connection between the vans and the main Outside Broadcast (OB) units   

•Audio circuits for talkback to the main OB unit   

•Three-phase system with main and backup circuits, with UPS and isolating transformer   

•Installation of deltatre computers

With phase one complete, Sony and deltatre will continue to work together at Sony's Italian production hub to ensure the smooth delivery of the second phase of the project.
