SIXTY Delivers Two New Virtual Studios to Norway’s TV 2

“One of the challenges we initially discussed with Sixty was to create a virtual set that looked as similar as possible to our previous traditional studio, and we have been delighted with how well they have achieved this,” said Mari Hvattum, Project Manager at TV 2. “These two new virtual studios will allow us to become even more creative in our presentation and we’re very confident that our audience will react positively to them.¨
“The broadcast industry is embracing virtual studios because they bring numerous and important benefits,” said Kjetil Horneland CEO at Sixty. “They facilitate flexibility in operations; they enhance the opportunity to be truly creative in ways that were previously not possible – and to deliver that creativity in real time. Last, but by no means least, they create a superior viewer experience. With what we have delivered, TV 2 can now easily create complex virtual sets and immersive graphics that will bring new dimensions to TV 2’s programming.”

Both sets feature Electric Friends advanced robotic cameras. An easy to use, intuitive system with a 7-axis robotic camera arm with trajectory and position repeatability to an accuracy of 0.01 mm, their highly exact mechanical tracking delivers automatic camera movement that can be triggered together with the graphics - making it easier to produce content in advance of the broadcast.
