Sennheiser to Showcase Audio for Video VR/AR an Broadcast at CabSat2017

SENNHEISER TO SHOWCASE AUDIO FOR VR/AR AND BROADCAST AT CABSAT 2017

Sennheiser today announced its participation at CABSAT, the Middle East and Africa's largest broadcast, digital media and satellite expo, taking place from the 21st to the 23rd of March, in Dubai. For the first time in the Middle East, the company will demonstrate AMBEO VR, a compact easy-to-use handheld mic that is the ideal tool for professional (Virtual Reality) VR production, and the newest addition to its Professional Wireless Range, the Digital 6000 Series. Also showcased will be the KH 80 DSP studio monitor from Neumann, a part of the Sennheiser Group, which was launched in February this year.

Marking the audio specialist’s 10th consecutive year at CABSAT, Mig Cardamone, Director of Sales and Marketing at Sennheiser Middle East, said "The broadcast industry remains a key focus vertical for Sennheiser and we are eager to highlight the advancements we have made with our product portfolio since our last appearance at the show. After successful engagements in 2016 with high-profile regional broadcasters including Al Jazeera Networks, Sharjah TV and others, we intend to keep this momentum going in 2017. As always, we remain committed to delivering the best products and services to broadcasters in the region and are eager to identify new opportunities through our discussions at the show this year."

The Digital 6000, which was launched just last month, is designed for demanding live productions. It incorporates key benefits of the company’s flagship Digital 9000 system into a two-channel receiver and associated handheld and bodypack transmitters. “It is the ideal choice for touring and rental companies, theatre and musical productions, broadcasting, houses of worship and for high-profile corporate customers. No doubt, many of the attendees at CABSAT will be very excited and interested in this new system,” said Cardamone.

The KH 80 DSP is the first monitor by Neumann to feature digital signal processing ensuring clear, high-precision sound wherever it is being used. It has been designed as an ideal monitor solution for recording, mixing and mastering in project, music, broadcasting and post-production studios. The DSP engine provides a linear frequency response with a FIR filter, ensuring all frequencies are precisely timed in every environment.

Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) are set to be key themes at CABSAT this year. 3D audio is an integral part of an immersive experience until now, the complexities associated with this have been daunting. With AMBEO VR, Sennheiser has greatly simplified 3D audio capture and hopes that at CABSAT, it will be able to drive engagements with VR production agencies, VR content creators, the Ambisonics community as well as studio engineers and owners.

“Organizations in the Middle East are early adopters of technology and are eager to leverage the very best products to ensure quality and performance. This plays perfectly to Sennheiser’s identity as a brand that is built on German engineering, decades of experience in professional business, and innovative science,” explained Cardamone.

As with previous editions, Sennheiser will co-participate with its pro-audio distributor for the UAE, Venuetech and will be present on their stand C1-30.
