RT Software demos the future of broadcast graphics solutions at IBC2015

From its new innovative stitch solution to the event’s first ‘sports bar’ - RT Software is one of the must-attend booths at this year’s event

Following successful customer trials, IBC2015 will see the official launch of tOG-Vista, a panoramic 4K UHD or 2K HD stitch solution from RT Software, the award-winning innovator in broadcast graphics solutions.

Designed to reduce costs and increase production values, tOG-Vista takes the live outputs from two side by side static cameras and stitches them together to create a single, panoramic view of the entire field of view. This enables operators to generate two HD outputs.

RT Software will provide live demos of the solution throughout IBC, showing how the HD outputs are joystick controlled to allow the operator to follow the action, and zoom in and out as required. Part of the display will show how zooms into the picture can be tight without losing quality, as the raw video is such high resolution.  In single operator mode, one joystick can set the tight angle on the action, while the second output will allow a looser wide shot around the same area. A full range of options will be demoed, such as the ability to add telestration for sports analysis and virtual advertising on the field of play.

Visitors to IBC2015 will also see another first from RT Software, with the cloud-based version of its renowned telestration system, tOG-Sports. There will be a demo pod on the stand showcasing the brand new cloud version, which allows access to the tOG-Sports interface over a web page, to greatly enhance a facility’s workflow. When editors are looking to add telestration to an edit, they are now able to log in to tOG-Sports from a web page, create their clip and send the clip back to their edit. For graphics operators, they can log in remotely, add telestration to a clip and send it to playout.

For the first time ever at IBC, RT Software will open the doors to its new tOG-Sports bar, the centre piece of the company’s booth. Visitors will be served refreshments from 4.30pm daily, while discovering more about those customers already using RT Software’s innovative solutions. Jamie Hindhaugh, Chief Operating Officer at BT Sport, will be on hand on the first day to talk about why they chose RT Software to provide the graphics for the channel’s new Champions League coverage.

IPTV, distribution of video over IP rather than SDI, is expected to be a big theme at this year’s show and RT Software is delighted to announce that it is a founding member of the IP Production Group (IPPG). This is a new independent manufacturers group aimed at raising the profile, establishing standards and encouraging interoperability across all things IPTV related. Customers will be able to see the latest developments in this field on RT Software’s booth.

Throughout the duration of the event rolling presentations will be also given from RT Software’s full VR Green Screen, showing the latest innovations in VR and AR. There will also be further individual demo pods for tOG-3D showing overlay graphics, tOG-Edit for creation, 4K graphics and tOG-Sports.

RT Software’s action packed booth and demo pods and its full range of solutions will be on stand 7.F33 at IBC2015.
