Remote Production in Times of Corona

The recently launched multi format ODIN matrix is ideal to be used for remote productions.

The global Corona situations is forcing most customers to work remotely. Therefore, Production facilities need solutions to manage this critical situation that we all are facing now. RTS RVON technology can be a solution: The RTS intercoms RVON technology is perfectly usable for long distance remote productions. The KP series keypanels ((D)KP3016 / (D)KP4016 / KP5032) can be reprogrammed from OMNEO to RVON without any cost, and change back from RVON to OMNEO when needed.

This means that customers can reprogram the KP series panels to RVON mode, for example to use in a home office location. The ODIN matrix ports can be programmed per port to analog, PL, RVON, VOIP, Dante, OCA, AES67 and OMNEO though the port allocation table. Program up to 16 ports to RVON and connect the two over WAN. If the network delay between the remote locations is below 20msec customers can use OMNEO perfectly for their remote production so they can run their intercom and audio on the highest quality remotely.

The RTSIntercoms RVON is a solution for establishing communications over long distance and across different subnets. One of four user-selectable voice encoders– codecs – is used to compress digital audio to a low bitrate suitable for transmission over internet. The high compression audio codec is intended for long-distance satellite transmissions, whereas the low compression codec is commonly used when higher bandwidth is available. With RVON, a matrix can communicate with another RVON-enabled matrix or keypanel anywhere in the world.

The RTS Voice Over Network (RVON) series allows the full integration of the RTS intercom system into the customer’s existing data network. It also allows to create an independent network for the RVON equipment. RTS devices are fully IP-compliant with current VoIP standards. All RVON series devices can be monitored via SNMP. The RVON product family supports ancillary data control for use with RTS Intelligent Trunking. These products enable trunking over IP for local to worldwide connectivity.

Because of travel restrictions, RTS’s customer in Limena Italy managed recently successfully a complete remote production between Limena Italy and the MCR in Qatar using IP RVON over WAN. A very impressive action that received a huge compliment from the end customer.
