Prodys Ikusnet Video Codec Enhanced for Full HD Operation
Ikusnet has two FastEthernet ports that either allows control and video streaming to be separated or to aggregate both lines to increase the bandwidth available for transmission. It is also possible to include the bonded 3G/4G connections with hardwired Ethernet connections giving 10 links for ultimate resiliency and bandwidth.
With two monitor screens Ikusnet allows the user to monitor the switchable video inputs, the video feedback (cue program from Studio) and the quality of locally encoded video. This is not the only thing that makes Ikusnet unique; it also supports a separate bidirectional audio talkback channel as a coordination line to the Studio and an ASI interface for satellite communications.
Prodys Ikusnet video codec system has been enhanced to include full HD operation over IP. Prodys will be demonstrating Ikusnet at IBC 2012 (Hall 1, booth 1.A74). The new Ikusnet HD model is available now, and it is already broadcasting live from the London Olympic Games via 3G.
Operational modes for this new model:
· Standard – SD IP encoding
· With HD licence – HD & SD IP encoding
· All models take SD & HD video inputs via SDI, HMDI & Composite video. Encoding to H.264 or AVC
The new Ikusnet HD model expands its connectivity, allowing enhanced modes of bandwidth aggregation. For cellular communications the Ikusnet can be ordered with two different configurations:
· 4 x external 3G/4G USB modems.
· 8 x 3G/4G cellular links, in a multi-SIM built-in module, with highly optimized proprietary internal antenna system to ensure enhanced signal reception.
Prodys’ experience in digital signal processing and Ikusnet’s unique design and features give Ikusnet the best quality/compression ratio and make Ikusnet the best video codec solution for both narrow and wide bandwidth data links.
