New to Japan: Eyeheight complianceSuiteFC for Apple Final Cut

Designed for seamless operation with Apple Final Cut editing software, Eyeheight's complianceSuiteFC consists of the legalEyesFC legaliser and safeEyesFC safe-area generator.

legalEyesFC supports all combinations of HD and SD file format and source colour-space recognised by Final Cut. It also provides composite, RGB, RGB-plus-Y and simultaneous composite-plus-RGB legalisation, all with user-adjustable soft clipping on high and low thresholds. Eyeheight's integral 'clobbeRing' non-linear predictive-filtering process reduces luminance overshoots commonly seen on computer-generated or highly graded footage.

The safeEyesFC element of complianceSuiteFC allows the display mode of each marker to be independently configured for optimal comprehension. Cursors can be viewed within Final Cut or displayed on any external monitor. safeEyesFC comes with 60 preconfigured markers. Administrators can select markers, add new custom markers or restrict access. An integral measurement tool provides a simple and reliable way to check text height for regulatory compliance. The measured area is clearly indicated with user-selectable colour and opacity.

New to Japan: Eyeheight KARMAudioRT loudness controller

A hardware solution allowing real-time unattended adaptive loudness and true-peak correction, KARMAudioRT continually monitors the amplitude of incoming audio and makes gradual adjustments to ensure that the overall content complies with a predefined target loudness. These adjustments occur uniformly across all channels to ensure that relative image positions are unaffected. KARMAudioRT also performs true-peak estimation and correction at 8 x real-time oversampling frequency. KARMAudioRT conforms to the ITU-R BS.1770 recommendation and its US equivalent, ATSC A/85:2009 (Recommended Practice: Techniques for Establishing and Maintaining Audio Loudness for Digital Television). ITU-R BS.1770 and ATSC A/85:2009 were defined in response to growing pressure on broadcasters to prevent the loudness of advertisements and upcoming-programme promotional clips exceeding the apparent average loudness of prior and subsequent content.

New to Japan: Eyeheight playoutHD SD/HD channel playout system

Eyeheight's playoutHD is a multi-definition version of the company's established and highly successful ‘playout compact’ SDI presentation switcher. Offering an efficient upgrade path from 525/625-line to 1080i operation in broadcast transmission centres, playoutHD is structured as a modular A/B switcher with four-group 16-channel audio facilities. Housed in FB-9E chassis, it can be expanded with a wide range of modular options including keyer and bug/crawler inserter.

Standard features of playoutHD include automation control, manual control and/or emergency control. A hot-swap dual redundant power supply is available as an option. Single or multiple expansion chassis can be connected to accommodate additional facilities or channels. TCP/IP-based Ethernet and RS232/422 control interfaces plus 14 GPI/tallies are incorporated and full manual control panels are available.

playoutHD is supplied complete with Eyeheight's Playout Application Suite software for general set-up, operational monitoring and detailed diagnostics.
